THREE PLACES TO TRAVEL IN THE SOUTH - 1948

Editing this very dark (VINTAGE 1948) 16mm film was a challenge. Simply adding more brightness on the subjectwashed it out, adding back contrast just made it too grainy/noisey. I think I lost.
It begins with the now closed Hillman Bridge across the Suwannee River in Florida. Progresses to Morgan City, LA and ends with a tour of the Bellingrath Gardens outside Mobile, Alabama. We believe the suspect photographer is Robert Carney, a stringer for the 40's-50's travelogue producer, James A. Fitzpatrick. We now believe the many reels we acquired from a San Jose, CA Estate Sale is his cache of out-takes accumulated from the many years of being on the road for Fitzpatrick. Enjoy!
