This was just plain wonderful. The reason is at one point I felt bad about doing a gig for tips many years ago. I made more money traveling as an artist. I stopped the madness. I would let people know about the way to support me tips........ iTunes KZbin...Etc. Revenue and streaming went up. But that point about free cds hmhmhm that is one great idea. All great suggestions! I've also noticed that people are more likely to tip if you pass around the tip jar than if you just leave it at the front of the stage. If you get a child (at all-ages shows, of course), a very attractive woman, or an elderly woman to pass around the tip jar, you'll make lots of money. At one show, when my daughter was 12, she happened to be on crutches because of a fractured ankle. She carried the tip jar around and got us a huge amount of tips. We gave her a share, of course. Another idea is to make promo-only CDs (using outtakes, live cuts, remixes, etc.) and tell your fan base that the only way they can get a copy is to come to a show and "name their own price" in the tip jar.

Thanks for the "free CD" idea, Tony. I've been using a tip jar at my current weekly gig, and the listeners have been moderately generous. I'll try the "stack of free CDs" next to the jar as an experiment to see if there's a "bump" regarding tip totals.

Hey Tony, I like hearing from you, but this time, I disagree with giving away my CDs 💿, it's one of the best ways to make money in this business, direct to consumers. streaming sucks. If you market and promote your music 🎶 business Intelligently you can be successful, I have been on line studying this business since I dropped my first CD 💿 on CD Baby, I love how CD Baby gets you on all the major platforms, but you have to promote it. I am going to order 1000 CD'S next week from you, for my New CD coming out next month, I am glad we got Disc makers, thanks.
