Far Far ahead of its time, the ending still gets me everytime. The film came out when I was teenager it’s sad at 42 to see the world going though the same problems.

English subtitles- what a gift for those of us who are French illiterates. It's difficult to express how much I've loved this film over the years.

I as a french person completely fluent in english I want to re do the subtitles because lots of the translations are awkward or slightly incorrect and it bothers me so much ;(

I speak French but I'm from Quebec so a lot of the slang and vocabulary still goes over my head. I understand about 75% of the dialogue. The subtitles definitely help a lot and I'm glad Criterion released a definitive version. There was a subtitled VHS version floating around in the 90's that was pretty poorly done. They translated the Asterix character's name to Snoopy for some dumb reason.
