Great video. Thanks a lot. I am Cantonese. When people for northern China visit Guangzhou, they always complain about Guangzhou food. Way to plain. Lack of flavors. Cooking is too simple. Since you are getting used to Sichuan food, do you find Guangzhou food too plain? We, Cantonese, love Dim-Sums. We eat tiny portions of different foods. That is nothing special now. But if you go back more than hundred years ago, only Cantonese could do that in China. I guess that is why there is huge difference between the way Cantonese and northern Chinese eat.

I didn't find it plain or simple. Sichuan is definitely more flavorful, but maybe coming from Canada I am used to less flavour.

Northern Chinese cooking is usually heavily flavoured and too much oil. Can’t blame them as they have the tradition to combat the cold in the past. I have tried it’s delicious but at the end of the day my stomach can’t really digest well and feel greasy and full. Cantonese, Teochew, Hokkien, southern Chinese cooking etc. Subtle, comfortable, light and flavourful. The taste of the food speaks for itself.

I partied with Robbie in Macao. We filmed several episodes of Itchy Feet After Dark with the automatic noodle machine. ;)

Sounds awesome. Love the lot. Guangdong 's mainly Cantonese Restaurants are just soo numerous, amazing lots of them. Personally love Dim Sum when in Guangdong - you seldom get disappointed. Dim Sum is also called Yum Cha - Morning tea - freshly prepared, mostly steamed Dim Sum dishes are served via cart in front of you. Just point out to the dish you want. There is such a variety, by my favorite is Xiu mei and Har Gao, and try the 1000 layer cake ( Qien Chan gou ) in Putonghua - steamed and honey flavored ) - Google: ' Insider Chinese menus ' //AfricAsiaEuro.com/chinafood

I agree about the xiu mei and Har Gao, but I've never tried the 1000 layer cake. I'll do it next time. Thanks!

Eating it from the place it was created. The best place in the world to get it. How can I pass that up?

@@itchyfeetonthecheap I've had it in Chinatown or homemade, taste the same, I would not travel all the way to the home land to eat char shiu or wontons, just saying.
