How DO Molecules Store Energy?

Chemistry text books say molecules like glucose store energy in bonds. Are they wrong? What even is chemical energy anyway? And what ARE chemical bonds? And are they JUST abstract concepts? Are Derek Muller from @veritasium and Nick Lucid from @scienceasylum correct when they say bonds don’t store energy? Except you're missing the point. Glossing over your criminally incorrect "AI suggestions" as for energy in a mole of glucose (it takes 5 moles or ~3000 kcal of glucose to run a marathon), Derek's point was that energy released from the "breaking of bonds" is actually not a valid way of looking at bonds nor bond energy. In fact, a better way of looking at it is, it always always takes energy to break a bond, and forming a bond always always releases energy. In the case of ATP, for example (which is how us animals store our energy), it takes energy to break its weak bonds, which are then reformed into strong bonds. This reforming releases more energy than it took to break the bonds. You can think of bonds, thus, as potential energy wells. The stronger the bond, the deeper the potential energy well, therefore the more energy it would take to separate the atoms again. You answer every question that textbooks simply gloss over and don’t even bother to explain it really helps to understand what you’re doing. But I have a question, where does that lost potential energy, that turns into kinetic end up? Who absorbs it? Is it radiated, or converted into heat, or vibrations, etc or does something else happen?
