Catching a good fish is the goal and releasing it is often better than keeping it :)

100% on board with what you are saying Coop. KNOW THE RULES AND REGS PEOPLE. So tired of people keeping both oversized and undersized fish. Kinda fricking tired of their BS excuses too.
@joshinaround44153 жыл бұрын
Thanks for spreading the message about abiding by the regulations. It’s not about keeping fisherman from having fish it’s about ensuring that fisherman can always have fish. Especially after the freeze when so many fish died.

Ya I saw the trout limit change. It’s good to let people know! Keep up the good work Coop
@marcusramirez84863 жыл бұрын
The new trout limit which was slated to start on April 1(officially) for no more than 120 days or less. It's a temporary(emergency)limit until the tpwd can determine by their gill net surveys in all bays just how much all game fish were effected by the freeze. At that time tpwd will decide to adjust the current bag limits if needed.

I like to start off by using a bobber and letting it drift along the jetty until I find the sheepshead that I am targeting. Once I find them I use my longest pole to drop my bait just past the rocks. I have hooked fish that get jambed in between the rocks. If you give them slack line they will get lose and you can still catch them. Thanks for another great video and all the detailed info. Really enjoy your work of should I say "labor of love"

Love your videos and just got done catching some Spanish and a slot red off a jetty over here in SC. You've gotta walk 1.2 miles to and from the jetty though and it about kills you pushing a beach cart. You've got it made being able to just pull up and jump out. Also living there. Be very thankful! Here in Florida we have the Florida wildlife conservation commission. The "FWC". Which I have called several times for people keeping undersized fish. They have showed up and confiscated. Plenty of fish and wrote them tickets. Hopefully in Texas you have the same to report to .

Hard to beat a nicer tasting fish than a Sheeper. Ive started to use 2 single hooks on a shrimp for them with their mouths so small and they attack different parts of the shrimp. Seems to work better for me.

Great vid Coop. I think a lot of people don't understand how beneficial it can be when the regs on fish are tightened-up. NC went from open season down to like ~6weeks per year for Flounder like two years ago and I guess those fish have been making a huge comeback in that state since the rules changed. Good on you for considering the death toll from the freeze. I wasn't aware TX had an over-slot tag for Reds, that's pretty cool. Maybe I'll get to fish there someday, it's only like a two day drive from NV.

@roelaguillon14403 жыл бұрын
So true, nothing gets me more fired up when you go to a spot and its just trashed, with a trash can not too far away, even if there isn't a trash can around bring a bag or use your plastic bag you get from buying bait and put your trash away and dump it at home or at a dumpster at a store or anywhere, so disrespectful, people just are so lazy and inconsiderate, you have to take care of the environment and it will give back, I always pick up what I can if its not too nasty to pick up...

Mate I tell ya. I got a little boat 3 weeks ago and the amount of stuff Ive pulled out of our water. Theres been a ton of pplastic bags. Deflated balloons. Stuff gets eaten by big fish thinking theyre jelly fish. And youve seen all the crap peeps leave on the jettys and beaches. Its bad news.
