A big warm hug for doing what you three are doing. It’s one of my spiritual steppingstones.

I love the idea of "symbols as threshold." I'm also reminded of the late John O'Donohue, poet, and Hegelian scholar, who in his book "Anam Cara," wrote of the senses as being thresholds where the universe becomes aware of itself." So, the way you see something, touch something, etc., you interpret and process for not just yourself, but the greater spirit. For me, this calls us into authenticity and mindfulness so that we can offer this very meaningful function. Great episode! Thank you!

Perfect Only part i thought was curious was the speculation about the Sister. Elevated resting could also symbolize death. I know you prefaced your perspective with limited details. I agree she also could represent hope for a better way of seeing the way. I think it’s interesting. The symbols could have such varying different meanings and polarity. When we cross over the threshold into the sacred it helps to play spiritual music that engenders awe. Makes things clearer

For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

I’m curious now that I am halfway through this, what your thoughts on the “Threshold Guardians” and “Liminal Spirits” are? Just as I say this you begin to explore the Gargoyles and Gatekeepers. In the psychedelic field, each sacred medicine is associated with a guardian. Mother Ayahuasca, the demon Mescalito for Peyote, the Mushroom guardian etc. These spirits block the gates from unworthy access. boundary spirits exists in the deepest and oldest myths. Thoth is associated with the Baboon and the Ibis. the Baboon lives in two realms, the jungle and the plains. The Ibis inhabits the marshes between the river and the land. (Of course Thoth is also known as a God of the Crossroads, as is Mercury and Hermes. All of them liminal spirits able to enter the underworld, and access the super all world.

I would also recommend this book to the dreamer: "the decent to the goddess: A way of initiation for women" by Sylvia B. Perera that elaborates on the myth of Inana and is a beautiful insightful book. Her dream too seems to speak of such an initiation. This book is available for free on the web. Best wishes to you
