I could relate with women who had to wait to pick the flower, avoiding the rotting she-wolf. I after 12 years in sobriety , stopped dating. I found that I was acting out through unhealthy relationship, I was too unhealthy to date. I been single for 2 years , the transmutation of my sexual desire/co-dependence has transformed my life. Finding you guys has been a gift on my journey , complete synchronicity .Carl Junjg talk with Rolle Hastling was consider the First 12 step call In AA, write Bill W . I never even heard of Carl Jung to January. I been in program 14 years . The toxic shame from childhood manifested in my alcoholism, I believe Carl Jung is amazing. , as well Brandshaw

One of my favorite ideas of Jung. It’s given me so much peace of mind since I learned about it. Patience, wait for the answer to unfold itself.

I have to say. This has to be my favourite episode. My God, so profound. Thank you ❤️ glad to see you jabbing at modern psychology as well, theres too little of that 😅 as someone who has worked in modern psychiatric care, it's with a certain amount of pain one observes the de evaluation of the unconscious.

What a rich Episode! I so resonate with the emphasis of the "manualized therapies" that keeps us headed down the Wrong Road!

HFS! I so relate to the woman Joseph talks about! I've been living in my "hut" (urban zendo) in the forest so long I've grown quite attached to it! I'm willing to wait for ? in this version of the "Don't Know Hotel"

- when unconscious and conscious are in dissonance it creates disturbances in psyche, like anxiety, worry and uncertainty - the dissonance also manifests as inability to make a decision or being unsure; stuck between the two forces - the stuckness and the uncomfortable thoughts and emotions it produces is a cry for attention from unconsciousness, not an enemy or something to get rid of - when the both sides of dissonance are held it in the conscious, aka unconscious is made consious without being it overpowering the ego, it will result in third, novel, attitude = this is process of transcendent function - the key is to hold both sides, the conscious, and the unconscious, without picking sides, but rather listening to the both and let them have a conversation - the new attitude comes naturally, without forcing and it is not controllable - notably though, it is possible to encourage the transcendent function by asking the unconcsious to come forth, through intentional active imagination, taking a walk or production of art, also analyzing the dreams - however, patience is a virtue, especially whilst in the state of dilemma - the act of conscious waiting will bear fruit - the "goal" is moving to depressive position from paranoid-schizoid split, where objects or choices are seen in black-and-white: this is wrong/bad, and this is right/good, but rather, that there are only shades of grey, no perfect choice, but also not the worst choice, and after all humans are quite good at thinking they made the right choice they could at the time These are my takeaways, the most major one being about the patience. Thanks for the episode. I have had this urge to have my dilemma solved quickly and once-for-all, which I think is manifestation of my inability to hold the opposites in consciousness, as it bring so much confusion and I had this thought, that confusion must be dealt with by "just picking one side", but frankly, I have no idea which side to pick. Thanks to you and Jung, I have more faith in the process of holding the opposites and that the resolution will emerge through transecendent function. I shall walk this path with patience. My borderline structure makes this thing especially hard on every level, the splitting happens and I don't know which side to believe. I think this is also the problem of modern, well, problem-solving man. We are learned to deal with things by solving them, especially as males. My father has always these problems also, by splitting between two sides of some dilemma, and not being able to make decision, especially by himself, without the help of my mother, and I've unfortunately been passed on this trait. Maybe the key is really to hold the opposites. This seems, especially for me, so unituitive due the facts I stated earlier, but I will do my best to gather the attitude of sitting with the opposites patiently, as opposed to trying hard to solve which side of the coin is the right one with my logical mind.

transcendant function melds the different views of the ego and the subconscious. work from body feelings to see what the subc is saying about the ego's logic/quandry. use dreams to detect messages, eg, red flower in decaying wolf.
