[Verse 1] How can anybody sleep? How can anybody sleep when it's so bad? How can anybody sleep? How can anybody sleep through this storm? How can we sleep, how can we sleep when it's so bad? How can we sleep, how can we sleep through this storm? [Verse 2] How can anybody see? How can anybody see where the road leads? How can anybody see? How can anybody see through this storm? How can we see, how can we see where the road leads? How can we see, how can we see through this storm? [Chorus 1] This weather is breaking my heart This whirlwind of falling apart Oh [Verse 3] How can anybody hear? How can anybody hear over thunder? How can anybody hear? How can anybody hear in this storm? How can we hear, how can we hear over thunder? How can we hear, how can we hear in this storm? [Chorus 2] This weather is breaking my heart This whirlwind of falling apart So give me your hand I double my brothers Let's make our way out of this rain We can't keep on living this way Blind through the storm Blaming each other Oh [Outro] How can anybody sleep? How can anybody sleep when it's so bad? How can anybody sleep? How can anybody sleep through this storm?

This is the most beautiful song on DW EP, too bad it didn’t make the cut, if Thrice would have replaced Everything Belongs with this track: Palms would have been absolutely Perfect and Flawless! This track is so deep, I fuckin’ love it! 💜

The best part of a band with such a range as Thrice is how many subjective viewpoints they draw in. I think their only bad song is, "As the Crow Flies," from Air. And I love that album haha

Currently reading Brandon Sanderson's Stomrlight archive... A world perpetualy hit by storms in witch a bunch of princes make war for money and succes... One guy, Dalinar Kholin tries to bring them back to reason by following the ancien precepts of chivalry... This song IS definitly his theme !!

It bothers me that I keep seeing people talk about how Thrice's lyrics have gotten better and deeper. I just don't see it. Everythings so on the nose now and not clever. The religious overtones in every album since Beggars is tired. It's like, Brand New already did "The devil and god are raging inside me", do we really need more? I personally love how Thrice's style has changed up over the years, as I've been able to grow up with them and it's been a treat. However, I feel nothing but sadness and a little bored with everything after Beggars.

What a spiral downfall from artist in the ambulance what is shame what could have been but never was
@johnfazzino16615 жыл бұрын
I cant completely agree but I do hear what you're saying. When Artist in The Ambulance came out it was such a leap for them it blew my mind. The song writing is still there but one of my favorite hardish style music bands basically became a good indie band. Sooo while I don't dislike their new stuff, I'm still a huge fan, it's just not what I look for in Thrice music and find myself always going back to Artist and Identity Crisis. Maybe one day they'll do one of those throwback tours that would be siiiick. A better bridge is the standout on this EP for me.

@@johnfazzino1661 From your comment and the OP, it sounds to me like y'all just want them to be louder. I was introduced to thrice through Artist in the ambulance, and something Dustin said going into albums after Artist that really hit a note with me because he identified how I was listening to the band and a lot of songs on Artist. He said they decided to stop making songs where they have a "part" that is the highlight of the song, and instead make that part the whole song. That's how I listened to them, teppei doing a certain riff, a certain solo, the end of the abolition of man, the bridge of silhouette... They were my favorite band then and still are now. The illusion of safety is still my favorite album of theirs, but I could always hear that they were going for something that was "more" than a post hardcore band and was kinda just working with what they had. I feel like they are now making songs that are more fully realized. A lot would argue that NOW they are making songs that only have one good part, I can see a lot of people only liking the end of this song. But as a thrice fan and music fan in general... they have made single songs post artist in the ambulance that blow away that entire album.

@@johnfazzino1661they are. They re-recorded AITA and are doing an anniversary tour for it. They featured singers and players from other bands that they feature in a lot of the songs. Hot Water Music, Manchester Orchestra, Holy Fawn, The Architects

They actually adress this regularly. Their thought is that even if they tried, it will never be or come close because so much of it that we all love is the memories and times we associate with those early albums, not just the songs.
@darthjalapeno5 жыл бұрын
I hate thrice fans that have this kind of attitude they have matured plus the song writing is so much better than anything from the first 3 albums
