I was thinking of making this same pattern into a waistcoat too, and yours looks amazing despite the struggle! your process is super helpful and now I just have to find a nice fabric to make one to, can't wait to figure it all out for myself soon 😇

I think it looks really nice! I didn't notice the problems with it until you noticed it so hopefully you will get more use out of the waistcoat than you think! I do think were it me, I'd have done a mock up before cutting into the nice wool though.

This is so so helpful! I’m in the middle of the bias on this pattern and it’s been killing me

Lovely finish! I've made this pattern 3 times. 1st a muslin, complete with eyelets and a long shoestring. It's surprisingly nice looking LOL. 2nd with the peplum from a shower curtain and lined with a sheet. 3rd from jacquard curtains and lined with a sheet. The 3rd one is reversible with a few modifications. I sewed the outer and inner fabrics completely together as separate pieces. Put them together and bound the edges for the finish. The armholes were a bit of hand stitching to finish the meeting of the binding. The binding at the 2 back seams is deleted. 2 for 1. YEHAW! New subscriber.

Okay so I am not alone with struggling with this pattern, it seems so simple yet I keep goofing things up. I am so glad I found your video because I was about to scrap this project!

Thank you for sharing this. I have this pattern to recreate a vintage waistcoat, I hadn’t made it because, I wasn’t sure if it will work. Now that I’ve seen you make yours, it’s given me the confidence to make mines. Once again thanks for sharing

This pattern I’m just starting to attempt it… and I’m confused about their seam allowances before I’ve even started sewing. 😂 is it 3/8” for some part and 5/8” for another?? If you can help thank you 😊 and also I’m enjoying watching this adventure of yours very helpful

How the heck do you sew the side pieces to the front in step 3? I matched up the small circles and everything and it does not work
