You have been my style guru for the last few years. My mother dresses in masculine clothing, very short hair and no makeup. I stopped dying/cutting my hair and starting wearing all dresses and skirts with blouses. I started being more modest in dress and in attitude. I quickly found a traditional Catholic man and we married quickly. We now have a 6 month old daughter! My hair is now healthy and down to my bottom, I also just cut curtain bangs because they look so good on you! I'm still learning, but every change has been great and so flattering so far. Thank you for your videos and happy thanksgiving 🍁

Same! My mom is a very practical person, I wouldn't say she dresses masculine, but there's no sense of style, just comfortability, everything is baggy and careless, not in a cute way, she used to wear makeup but slowly stop to a point she o ly wore lipstick and now not even that, I took upon myself to really dive into femeninity 3 years ago, I still struggle because I tend to fall into comfortable items, which are baggier but I'm working on it! She was the first KZbin I watch and who inspired my journey, so grateful and happy!

For the longest time I would hold back from looking 100% feminine because of what people might say. I now feel confident in wearing feminine clothing and I can’t believe the men that have went out of their way to make their self known around me. Verbally or at a distance. And that feels good that I turn heads due to my confidence in dressing this way. I find it as a perk in coming across as a feminine woman which is almost like a extinct gender. As long as you were polite and respectful and always say hi with a smile I believe you can get away with any style that you like. And people will not judge you.

So many things to say: 1) I *love* your eye makeup in this video and would love to see a tutorial on how you do it, especially the eye shape itself (I feel like it’s different from other looks you’ve done- your other looks are very natural and beautiful but this is so glam!) 2) I really appreciate the detail in the breakdown. Your videos and commentary like this have helped me to analyze and figure out why certain outfits or items fall flat even though they are a feminine color or cut. 3) On a personal note- Your videos have inspired me to be more feminine. I am a teacher and I dress to inspire my girl students to fully embrace femininity and how God has made them. I consider this a very small but valuable part of my ministry. I also hope I can show them that it is possible to look great and still be modest. You’ve inspired me in these things and now I’m trying to pass them on. THANK YOU! ☺️

There is something you said a few years ago that has always stuck with me. You said along the lines, if you wear something a few times, but it isn’t “you” then you’re basically wearing a costume. So when I gawk at cottage core fashion, I know I love it, but if I wore it it would be a costume because it isn’t me. When I shop now, I even ponder if I’m wanting to look like an aesthetic or a specific person, or if I actually like the item for my personal style.

It’s also so interesting to me how clothing items such as collared shirts were very fashionable for women in hyper feminine eras (1880s to 1950s) but are now perceived as a bit more masculine. For the longest time I felt like I was demeaning my femininity with my love of vintage collared shirts but then I realized how many feminine ladies rocked them in the past too. Style has an Overton window funnily enough Love the vid ❤

On ladylike/ elegant clothing: I think it is important to keep in mind that this can and probably will age you. If you're 18-25, your best bet is probably to combine elegant pieces with more laidback or playful or trendy pieces. My little sister has this beautiful greyish beige suede trenchcoat, and it fits her perfectly, but she looks 10 years older in it. Even our parents noticed that, so please keep in mind that certain styles can age you and that's not always what you want.

I'm 20 years old and I can say that this is very true. To dress a bit more my age I try to go towards "cute feminine" more than "elegant feminine" by incorporating more patterns like flowers, wearing my skirts just above the knee, and wearing flat shoes like ballet flats and white leather sneakers.

Thank you for these videos. I have recently really been convicted and have a greater desire to embrace my femininity more. I have always been a ‘Tom boy’ and dressed very masculine. I am a practicing minimalist and was being greatly influenced by the ‘minimalist’ aesthetic in regards to my wardrobe. After having many different ways that feminine ‘content’ came across my path I believe I am to learn and grow in embracing my femininity. I am gradually changing over my clothes but trying to keep many minimalist principles which does emphasize dressing for my ‘real’, current lifestyle. This video was SO HELPFUL at helping me navigate dressing more feminine but staying true to myself and being patient with myself. I am always so encouraged by how you ‘go deeper’ and make it about more than just the outward appearance. Please keep making videos about clothing/ styles and femininity….I could listen to you over and over.

This probably sounds weird but I stopped dressing for the male gaze and started dressing for the feminine gaze instead (not on purpose, I'm just drawn to that style more) and that's when the compliments started rolling in. My main motto when getting dressed is 'you can't see up it, down it, or through it' and then work from there. But I LOVE a dress or skirt with a fun and cute pattern and/or a beautiful colour. Plus everyone feels better in clothes that compliment their shape.

Great video! I'm in my late 60s, so at this point, I try to look feminine and out together the best I can. I enjoy your videos and love how there are feminine influencers. I was a career woman wearing suits and more masculine clothing (although always wore high heels and makeup). Wonderful to be encouraging women to embrace their feminity.

This was so freeing!!! I've been struggling with this concept because everyone I follow is wearing dresses and skirts but it's just not appropriate for my way of life. I was spending money on things that weren't meant for my body, lifestyle or my style because I thought that was what femininity was all about. This has been so helpful and encouraging and freeing me up to be more feminine but in a way that fits me and my lifestyle and my style in general. I can enjoy clothes again!! THANK YOU!!!!

This video is what I’ve been needing. I have a two year old and my go-to outfit is jeans and a T shirt. I’m also pregnant and that is inspiring me to dress a little more feminine to accentuate my baby bump. Thank you!

Oh it can be so tough! I find that the more you wear what you enjoy, the more you’ll feel comfortable showing that side of yourself to others. Soon enough, people just expect you to look like what you look like if that makes sense lol 😅

@@MrsMidwest This is so true and another thing is that maybe the other moms will like what you wear and become inspired by you? This is how trends and styles spread already, and it's not just a one way street where everyone adapts to what one person decides (not even in meangirls 😅), even ideas spread this way! What we wear influences others, just like our words and actions. If you find that an action fits with your philosophy then do it, if you find that an item brings beauty to the world or represents something you wish to convey then wear it

@@julielynnerose it's completely natural to want to fit in with your group of friends or a mom group because that's where a lot of support and belonging can come from and this is what humans are primarily wired to seek out. It's not good to completely erase oneself either, but there is nothing wrong with dressing for the occasion or the people to some extent. Psychologically it becomes even more important to most people when the bonds in the group are reliant on something singular like just being mothers, because if you don't "fit in" there is nothing keeping them from rejecting you (this can be seen in all groups where there is only one or a few guaranteed commonalities). Like I said, it's not good to erase oneself, to do that is a stress reaction about rejection that ironically means any support or belonging can be taken away when the true self comes out - but it's important to remember where that mechanism comes from so that we can navigate it properly. To try to fit in at least in some aspects (behaviour, dress, philosophy, interests) is "being you" to most people, so to avoid that would be the same as being untrue to themselves.

Loved this video. I have often struggled with dressing feminine. I wear a dress every day as per my convictions and culture but I am all about comfort so I tend to wear oversized hoodies and sweaters and causal shoes with my dress! This video helped encourage me to have confidence in my style and preferences:) thank you Caitlyn 🤍
