You look so beautiful in the beaded silk dress that you really have to keep it because you would make every head turn wearing that and I am sure that one day the exact event will happen and it would be awful thinking, oh I wish I had kept that blue/teal evening dress...When I was little in the 1960s I used to imagine myself as a grown up, out wearing a beautiful 1950s style (I was born in the 50s and there was a hang over, fashion wise into the sixties of 50s style sort of wiggle dresses) red dress, I can still picture it. This blue dress is the kind of thing that you daydream about, and you look so amazing in it, you just have to keep it! Also every one of your thrift hauls opens my mind up to things I hadnt thought of, You are so fantastic at visualisation and then you get them on, and they all look incredible! I love your channel, its an absolute goldmine of great ideas! Yes who knew how rare covered buckle belts are these days!

• Not to be an enabler but I'd never stop thrifting either if I were you, especially considering that wherever you live you seem to have all the best thrift shops, I'm always jealous of your finds! I can't wait! 🐍 • I think those safari style of shorts look SO flattering on you, but I totally support your "i don't care whether or not these shorts look flattering/make me look thin, I'm wearing them because i like them and I want to" because yes, love this mindset! 👌🏼 • I love how elegant you looked in those evening dresses! Makes me want to try wearing evening wear but I'm too short, even if I tailored them I imagine I'd look funny 😅 Also can't wait for this evening wear lookbook so that I can live vicariously through you • Yes to the etsy shop! In the early 00s I was very successful in over dying jeans. I got about 5 pairs super inexpensively and over dyed them with different rit dyes in the washing machine. They all came out different color tinted. If you still want a dark denim jean, I’d recommend trying dying it with navy rit dye. ETA- you are gorgeous and really interesting, anyone would be lucky to date you. Definitely try it, if you want. I keep editing- my prom (1994) dress was that color. It definitely looks like a lot of dresses I remember from high school. I tried on that dress in red at a boutique in New Orleans, late 1993 or spring 1994, I think. It was out of my price range and my dad freaked out. 😂

The floral shorts are right on for the 40's play suit look! And yeah, I don't spend any real money on shorts. The thrifts are full of them for cheap. My most flattering jeans are high waisted, butt hugging Levi jeans found at a thrift shop. Those low slung things just don't hold in my muffin top...ha. I see why you bought the silk skirt. It’s beautiful! And I also love the saddle shoes with the mom jeans! Those gloves were just waiting for you to take them home. Great deal! Such great finds this month! My thrift store trips are commonly looking for work pants for my husband. He’s a chef and it is much more cost effective to get them for a few dollars a pair vs $20 or more when he sometimes comes home with bleach splatters. Also, I’m often looking for men’s khaki shorts in the summer months for my 18 yr old son and hubby. I have a very difficult time finding clothes for myself at the thrift store. I am 5ft tall and pants are so hard to find. Occasionally I will find a casual petite dress. I wish I could hem pants on my own. I am quite lacking when it comes to sewing. I get very frustrated with myself.
@TheClosetHistorian5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I suppose with thrifting one could easily pay so little for nice trousers that having them hemmed at a tailor would cost more than the pants did, which I can imagine is annoying!
@blondieb69465 жыл бұрын

I love your channel! So great! I think the reason those cute tropical shorts might have ended up at the thrift store is because of seams... the placement of the stamen of one of the flowers is just close enough to the crotch to make it awkward. Eeps.

Thank you Kristin! I'll admit I had the same thought once I got them home, but I'm not sure the fix! Though perhaps if worst comes to worst trying to style them, I could always take them apart and make a pattern from them perhaps?
