Kristen! Meant to tell ya! I am right now using your technique and exact Ben M simply white color in my dining room/kitchen areas. Been priming for a week! The walls above the wainscoting and wall framing were Ben M “amazing Gray” I did them 8 yrs ago and touched up every so often. Everyone loved the color but I absolutely loved how your little area came out I HAD to try it! I’m still prepping and priming. I want to do it right. I’m taking my time but the space in here is also quite large so it’s taking a bit more time & effort. I can only hope it looks anything remotely similar to yours! I’ll let ya know how final results are! Thx for the ideas and helping me to get motivated here !!😘

Wow - you have great thrift stores in your area with very reasonable pricing. We have a few stores in our town but prices are high considering they are donated used items. I saw a lot of beautiful pieces in your shopping day.

I no longer have my piano, but l have my antique 1917 round piano stool as seen here. It is used, wth a thrifted glass tray to protect it, as a plant stand. Looks wonderful in my living room

I love san clemente it's my famies favorite beach and great shops and even at Dana point as well , I haven't been there maybe a year or 2 since my dad passed it's 3 year's since he passed san clemente and Dana point was his favorite places to be

BTW: You need to tune a piano every time it is moved. There is a chance that it isn't in tune in the thrift store even though it may sound like it is to someone who may not have a musical background.

That dresser that “didn’t have dovetails” was worth buying, it was still made of wood, and has made it this far in its life, so it’s pretty sturdy. Besides, how many times are you going to open and close those drawers. Sometimes being a snob works against you.

Buying thrifted glassware or any kitchen item makes me nervous. Is there a way to know if they are lead-free?

By doing research and by learning brands, styles, time periods and the style of glass. There are articles on Google you can read and videos on YT. Usually lead glass has either a sticker if you can find it, or it is usually cut glass, that is heavy for its size, and very luminous with a bit of a iridescent shine to it.

No thrift, second-hand, or antique store within 50 miles of me has prices that good. I've actually lost interest in thrifting because I kept seeing such ridiculous prices (hundreds) for total pieces of crap. Broken drawers, ink stained tops, etc. No ma'am. I don't mind refreshing something or doing minor repairs but not for something that costs $300. Especially at Good Will. They literally got that stuff for free. Now they want to join in on inflation? Come on!
