@mbshoedoc4 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate it. It was partly because I wanted to see what could be done and partly because I wanted to try out a saddle shoe to see if I like the style. It's more of a smart casual shoe than a true dress shoe.

@@mbshoedoc I'm just not an oxford guy. Folk'll call the derby the oxford's ugly cousin but I strongly disagree as they're my favorite. You should try a split toe derby. Been wanting to try those for the first time.

Nice job sir! subscribed to your channel. Many don't like polish binder leather, I have one from Church's, what do you recommend to strip those polished binder? Thanks
@mbshoedoc3 жыл бұрын
You would strip it the same way with acetone but I expect it to be a big mess. I don't think I've actually dealt with it myself but expect it to be difficult. You may need to use the finest steel wool with the acetone if cotton balls won't work.

Great job! I am using this video as a guide, but I cannot find Acetone anywhere. Can I use rubbing alcohol instead, which is not running out anytime soon? May I also ask for advice on dyeing my first ever pair? They are tan, but I would like deep burgundy.
@mbshoedoc4 жыл бұрын
I find acetone easily at Lowes, Home Depot. You can also use nail polish remover with acetone. Alcohol can work but it doesn't strip as well. There is also fiebing deglazer and Saphir Decapant which are designed for stripping as well. Pure acetone is just cheaper. (And by the way rubbing alcohol has run out around here at least... Covid). I have a number of videos dying in burgundy tones. Check those out too 👍
