I've had my share of M:TG Thrift Store Finds over the years. Even in the six/seven years that I didn't play, I still had enough sense to buy them every time (as long as they weren't all lands) I saw them at Thrift Stores. The most that I've ever found at one time was enough to fill a large paper grocery bag with cards dating all the way back to Arabian Nights. I've also found little white card boxes here and there every now and then filled with Magic Cards. I think my best score was a little plastic hinged 40ct box with mostly Revised cards and a Revised rule book for .99 cents. (That little box also had a Revised Tundra in it!)

We had a Value Village in St Louis not too long ago, it recently closed tho. Pretty cool place and lower prices than Goodwill. I dont remember seeing Magic Cards there that would have been awesome

So here is my amazing thrift store find. I purchased two fat pack boxes nearly full of cards that turned out to be mostly from the Future Sight/Lorwyn/Shadowmoor era for $3.99 each. Most of the cards were worthless, but I did wind up pulling a foil and non-foil Fullminator Mage, Grove of Burnwillows, Sliver Legion, Painter's Servant and about a dozen or so more $5-10 rares. Sold all the good stuff off and made a cool $250. I also found some goofy looking Donald Trump board game from the 80s for only $2.99 (it looks like terrible Monopoly). It was a good day to say the least.

slivers seem to be hard to acumulate into and EDH lots of effort to find them all and set it up. plus u need the bombs and an actual commander - however the slivers alone are worth abit as theyre already acumulated :)

I hate it that people in random thrift stores now have the foresight to remove rares from MTG used card packs. The internet and fucking Black Lotus on every top ten most expensive "games//toy" list ruined getting good deals at 99% of the places you could find them 10-15 years ago. It's nuts, you go out to a yard sale with an old lady selling her kid's old cards and she wants 10$ for thousands of sports cards(overpriced still for kindling imho) and retail for MTG. Used to be the other way around :/

After playtesting a sliver cube online, i have realised a few things, 1. I should have realized it, but most slivers are symetrical, which means you pick the one that only affect yours (usually the newer ones) very highly and the symetrical ones are just really fun. 2. There is a bit of a shortage of slivers for a cube larger than a small 360c one, admittedly more mana fixing could help that. 3 not everyone has to go 5c, it is hard not to go 3, but 5 is hard to pull off

i think if your talking about making money then no you did not do ok. i only say this cus im a (collector/hoarder) of sorts so i try to never look at things im getting as a way of making money. tho i do like things with high value and love to hold onto them for a long time.
