Thanks for tuning in to Mountain Man Picker!
In this video, I decide to head back to the Thrift Store to try and find some missed LPs and score some decent vinyl... the pain of flipping through so many scratched and damaged records just to find a few gold nuggets leads me back to my trusty local Antique Store where I end up finding a sealed Buck Cherry LP and some cool Rock Posters to add to my home studio.
To find some of these vintage lp records online and available for purchase, here is the link to our "5 Star General Store" on eBay: www.ebay.com/s...

Xavier Cugat (Latin) /// Aphrodite's Child (Greek -- one of the members went on to compose "Chariots of Fire", those are all good records. Surprised to see some well-known French pop singers (but not great). Also, I agree with you on those stickers -- they're very hard to remove... I much prefer the stickers from Goodwill -- those you can peel with the nails on your fingers. If they don't come off easily, don't be afraid to use a little spit; it works every time.

Great tips! Thanks and I'm glad you agree with me about the stickers, they are a challenge to get off for sure. More coming soon!

Those posters started showing up late 70 early 80s if I remember right, totally made up, there were most likely never posters like those distributed or printed at time of the concerts they purport to be for. The Stones Altamont one is a great example, there was indeed a poster printed up the night before and given away at the show, but it did not resemble the one in the video at all. I recall there was another Stones poster, reminiscent of the one shown of their supposedly "first USA concert" or something. This one though had a mid-70s photo of the Stones, with Ron Wood, for a concert that supposedly was in 1964 or something way way before he joined the group. At least this place shown has reasonable prices, I remember the antique shop I saw the mentioned poster in wanted fifty dollars or so for it, and when I tried to explain that no way was Ron Wood in a photo for the 1964 Rolling Stones, the dude wasn't listening at all. Fun times jb

Wow, thanks for the history on the posters, I'm probably going back to American Classics Marketplace for some more, they look good in my studio. very interesting, thank you!

aren't all the ones on cardboard actually 90s repros? like hobby lobby, michaels and such

upon thinking about it a bit, I do believe it was late 80s/early 90s that I first saw them popping up, not 70s/80s, so yep, I believe you are correct. To Mountain Man Picker, I personally would grab that altamont one just for curiosity sake, for 10$ you cannot really go wrong, just don't think you are getting some rare original artifact. jb

thanks for the clarification, I will definitely be back to grab some more but I do realize these are not original posters, but they do look cool in my music studio, thanks everyone!@@jbwelda2934

I would have grabbed Delaney and Bonnie on tour with Eric Clapton. (It has the white car on the cover of the LP Jacket) Plus definitely go and grab Julie London Calendar Girl. In fact always grab any Julie London album. The record stores in Los Angeles always likes it when I bring in any Julie London record.

@@mountainmanpicker That was Jimmy Smith?? I thought it was Wes Montgomery? As you grow in years and your ability to listen to different rhythms matures you will always gravitate to things you didn't consider in the past.

Absolutely! I'm starting to get more into Jazz and other genres now. I grew up on Beatles, Beach Boys, and then Classic Rock, Acid Rock, Progressive and eventually into Heavy Metal too. So much great music out there! @@jody8526937
