Thanks for the store tour, so fun! Our dining room is narrow also. I took our table apart, kept the legs and built a new top that is longer and thinner. I had to watch a few vidoes to figue out how to use a pocket jig but I really like the way it turned out. Your new table looks great and the flowers are beautiful!

I love a round dining table; I can get 6 in cozy setting but mostly I only have 2-4 for a meal. When holidays or special events I borrow a desk or sofa table and set up buffet. Card tables pulled up near table can be nice with matching tablecloth to that in dining table. I loved the texture of your table and the table base as well. Thanks for sharing your little thrifting trip. Some items were considerably higher than similar find in Oregon, and only saw a couple that were cheaper.

Love the new table, I had the same problem with my dinningroom I found a smaller rectangular table at IKEA for a $100 cdn. I could not leave behind its dark in colour and in no way matches my pine hutch left from my old set. I want to paint the hutch but my husband is a pine purest...so we will see! I can fit 6 parson chairs around it and it even extends for 2 more. I picked up some IKEA covers for the chairs in a green leaf pattern which I love. Thanks for taking us along.

I too find myself smitten by metal decor. At first it was iron shelf brackets, iron curtain rods, book ends, Victorian bed frames. I bought (4 big galvy watering cans (so cheap) way back in the 90s. Still love them. Not into cutesy farmhouse, but I got really aggressive weeding out my overdone Country French, Mario Butta (or Bwatta?) style 10 yrs ago. Now I balk every time I see something that I love, love, love. Letting go of my carefully shopped CF consignment collection tested my self control. I've enjoyed having less table tabletop stuff to dust. My next big galvy project is a full size, 100 y.o. windmill (with real rust in places), I plan on hoisting up high in the cathedral ceiling of my NM cabin. My first idea was to have it professionally wired, but I've reconsidered because of its size. Most shops that do that work don't have doors large enough to get it through. I'll either hang a string of Edison-bulb lights or maybe leave it undressed, as an art piece. I can use a spotlight strategically placed in the loft to showcase it. 🙄 So many plans, so little time. All the handyman fellas are retired or dead now. Woe is me. 😉 🤗Thanks for taking me shopping today. I have too much yard work to go.

Wow I thought you were going to buy something smaller but so pleased you purchased the table it is perfect. The walk around the Flea Market was great and loved the pieces outside…I had my eye on that lovely braided rug near the Quilt and the large square wicker basket with lid was such a bargain. You really do such a pretty table with all your treasures and that flower arrangement was so soft and romantic looking. Thanks Tanya 💐

I bought a Basil Green colour sitting horse which is about 40 centre metres long the other day and it is gorgeous under my antique lamp and could not leave it behind. Timestamp 9:23.. maple buffet is identical to my mothers... bought in the 60s it cost $1200 new. I'm storing it in my furniture barn, hoping one of the grand daughters will see its quality one day. Even stored in the heated barn for 20 yrs those drawers still glide like glass. Would love to hear any ideas you have on refinishing them. Painting it would make a good winter project for me.

Painting it would be beautiful. But I actually love the sanded or stripped wood these days. Sometimes it needs to be bleached. But I would think Maple would be perfect “in the raw” with just a clear wax. Let me know what you end up doing! 🌻

@@FreeRangeCottage I have several pieces of that same maple finish from the same co, same vintage. I'll experiment on a coffee table or side table. I know maple comes out really white when sanded, but I've never used wax after sanding that species. I know there's been a whole chalk paint thing goin on for yrs, but some pieces I've seen on consignment & in flea mkts were awfully rough. Back in the 90s I bought one of those heavily carved (wood still wet) sofa tables from the Philippines. By time I was ready to paint it several months later the top had big shrinkage in spots the size of a cake plate. I'd been tape & bedding sheet rock in our bunkhouse so I just smeared some drywall compound in the low areas to level them. I eventually textured the whole thing like icing a coconut cake, then sanded down the high spots. Painted it turq & used lime green glaze on top. 🤯 Those were my wilder days. I eventually painted it taupe w/ dark glaze. That was better.
