I always loved the Annie Vallotton illustrations in the Good News Bible. My grandparents had a paperback copy of the original Good News for Modern Man New Testament that kept in the spare bedroom and I would always flip through it and look at the pictures when ever I spent the night there.

This particular copy wasn't much for illustrations but that butterfly page gilding was a pleasant surprise! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to share your experience with this transaction. Blessings and shalom! ✌️❤️🙏

GNT (and its Filipino language counterpart Magandang Balita Biblia) is one of the most used translations here in the Philippines! I surely as a kid had a copy. Although here as days have gone by, most of the churches now use another English translation -- ESV, NLT or NIV. :) I had fun watching this video! Blessings to you, dear brother!

Thank you for watching. I try to make it fun and friendly with my videos. Do you have a favorite translation now or would you say the GNT is still your favorite? Thank you for taking the time to comment. Shalom and blessings brother.✌️❤️🙏🏻

@@BibleandaBicycle Oh my, I surely enjoyed GNT as a teenager but now I really am having NLT and ESV as my favorite translations! NLT for daily devotional reading and ESV for deeper dive in the Word. 😁 Happy to hear more from you! 😊

@@juanmiguelvillarroel9718 I too like the ESV, but often turn to NIV when doing outreach ministry for simplicity of language. Youngs Literal Translation is my favorite as far as in depth study of scripture. I suppose that everyone has their preference, One of the things that I like about doing these videos is researching and learning about all of the different translations of the Bible. I find it fascinating! It was good to hear from you! Blessings and shalom!

Would love to see a review of one of those old green Living Bibles. (I’ve found two!)

I don't think that I have one on my shelf at the moment. I usually review second hand Bibles that I find while at thrift stores. If I come across one I will definitely do a review. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to fellowship here in the comments. ✌️❤️🙏

Is the good news Bible really good ? I’m starting my relationship with god and don’t want to read anything that will be bad for my faith or relationship with source .
@sariahhope7182 жыл бұрын
After further research I’m going to say NO lol because just by reading the first book in the good news Bible Genesis it says that God told Adam that if he ate from the tree he’ll die the same day ??? Baffles me because the God I know doesn’t lie but then Adam loves to be .... some hundreds of years old & I'm like wait a min !!!??? So I kindly opened up my handy dandy phone & searched & this my good friend was confirmation !! Thanks a bunch .. God bless !!!

As I mentioned in the video, I wouldn't call the Good News Bible bad but there are better translations of the Bible out there. I would go with a nice ESV or even an NASB for general reading and light study. I like to have a good concordance and Greek/Hebrew dictionaries to get into the meat. But for a new believer and early in your walk, I would suggest a simple NIV translation to get a good reading of the stories themselves before concerning oneself with the meticulous letter of the word or trying to dig deeper. Lastly, but most importantly, come watch the content on this channel! Ask questions in the comments and on the community page. I for one would be more than happy to fellowship with you and any believers in Yeshua (Jesus). Blessings and shalom ✌️❤️🙏.

I found this for free at a book store, mine is called “good news, Lake Tahoe!” And it’s very easy to read but I’m just concerned about a few things so I’m here trying to get some clarity

I just ordered a good news compact Bible, not as a full time read but just to have another translation on difficult verses of my nkjv, I have most other translations except the message and the passion the latter being absolute tosh 😂 loved the video!

Where might I be able to find a book just like that one you're talking about it's a beautiful Bible, I'm looking one for my daughter she just started attending a Christian School
@BibleandaBicycle2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I have already re-homed this Bible and it was a random find at the local thrift shop. When researching for this video I could not find another one like it with the butterfly embossed pages. The only thing that I could find is that it was originally published in Africa. I wish that I could have found out more about it. Congratulations on your daughter attending a Christian school. I'm sure that you will find the perfect Bible for her. Thank you for watching and for asking your question here in the comments. Blessings and shalom. ✌️❤️🙏🏻

I met the Lord through the Living bible and the GNT, but today I am pro NKJV.

Thank you for watching and for commenting. I think that the Lord has the power to call us out regardless of the translation. Can I ask what made you decide to go pro NKJV and leave the GNT? Shalom ✌️❤️🙏🏻.

@@BibleandaBicycle I like NKJV bc the footnotes map out the various textual bases of the verses.
