I love what you do to lamps. Always. Thank you for being real and not taking your flips too seriously when they don't work out. You'll come up with the perfect solution for the basket.

There’s another KZbinr that I watch who does a lot with baskets that probably has done what you was trying to do. Her channel name is “Julies Designs and Signs”. You’d love her channel in general as well because like you she does mostly thrifting and diying. I’ve been with you for awhile and love seeing how much your channel has grown. You are so talented and I especially love your personality and bloopers! 😊

Emily, I get so excited when I get my notifications that you've uploaded another video! ❤ You definitely found some gems this time! My favorite was the little table! It looks AMAZING! I have been looking for something just like that but with no luck. I laughed so hard when you mentioned the scary dolls you find thrifting because I totally agree! Love, love, love your videos! Enjoyed your video. I would go online and do some research on the longaberger baskets. If they happen to be signed on the bottom by one of the family then they could be worth some money to a collector. generally speaking they're not worth much even though at the time they were made they were expensive. you never know what you may find. The company headquarters was built about 20 some years ago in Ohio and looks like a giant picnic basket. It cost $30 milIion at the time. I read an article that said it is being turned into a luxury hotel.

LongerBerger baskets were very popular about 10-15 years ago, you purchased them through a home party. They are extremely expensive and that basket for $10 is probably a third of what it really cost. Probably Around 60.00. They have since went out of business but they basically had a lifetime guarantee on them and it was a huge thing years ago. I still have a lot of them. For instants the basket that is the size of a picnic basket is $340. It was only offered as a half-price gift for hostesses. People coveted them. But I think they have since lost their allure.

Good to know about the basket. A chalk paint wash (or a dry brush application) seems to stick well to baskets and I see some people using the antique wax. I was about to get some stain after you showed yours but glad I saw you do it first.

Longabarger baskets were very popular about 12-13yrs ago. They would sell for hundreds of dollars and people used to have parties (like Tupperware parties) to buy and collect. They are very high quality . Just an FYI. Love ur channel!

Emily I LOVE how the side table came out. I am going to use citri strip on a ethan allen table that is also reddish in color. Did the color come off your table after you hosed it down? I am just curious how you got to the raw wood in the footage it doesn't really show?!!! Thank you!!

I went to many LongerBerger parties in the ‘90s in NY & NJ. They were expensive and well made. I still have that same basket and a few others. My favorite were the ones that fit into the steps of the staircase. I had one on top and one on the bottom. Back then you went to a party every week for everything from negligees to candles to jewelry, etc.

Emily..I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how the lamp turned out!! I have wanted to try the whole "DIRT" method..so maybe now I will try😊The color of the table is so pretty now..I also have a similar one to do😩 Now the basket..why not try a fine grit sand paper to get some of the the shine off and then try the stain..what do you have to lose? I mean the stain did take a little..and it does look better..but I can almost bet that once u get the "slippery"😂 off..the stain will soak rt in (don't b mad at me if it doesn't tho) Thanks for another GREAT video..I actually check to see if u have posted because I love ur energy and realness..and those giggles keep me smiling☺️☺️Thanks girl🤎🤍

You are right about the Longaberger baskets being from Ohio. The little town of Dresden, Ohio was a thriving town in the 1990's due to the Longaberger company. Dave Longaberger was the founder of the handmade baskets. The baskets were sold only at home parties not retail stores. They were quite pricey in their day. So I would say, you got a good deal on the basket for $10. The high chair without the tray I believe is called a youth chair. We bought one for our first child for him to use when he could sit at the table with us. It has now been used by all four of my children and now my grandchildren. Enjoy it! Thank you for your video and showing us many how-to's.

Hey! This is my first time on your channel. The baskets are a German thing. We are a Military family and when stationed in Germany you come back with them....many of them. it's tempting to paint them to cover the "orangishness" of them but don't, it lessens their value. You can look on ebay or other sites to find the value. If you paid a couple dollars you will surly make your money back 10 plus times over.

Longaberger Basket Company was located in Ohio. All baskets are hand made, wear like iron and signed by the maker. They were sooo pricey in the 90’s so $10 for your basket was a steal.

Love all your videos and the creativity you share. Quick thought on the clothes basket you tried to stain. Place it in some warm water, let soak a little while to get wet. Then add coffee and/ or tea to stain it. This let dry and seal it. Just came to me during your video. I haven’t tried it yet. But I will. Have to find a basket. Lol

You can try General Finishes gel stain on the basket. It stays on top of the wood and doesn't need to penetrate the wood to change the color. Or maybe try dry brushing some paint on it.

You could also try to clear coat the basket. The clear coat will "seal" the stain to take away the stickiness and the stain coming off on your hands. On wood, I personally use Deft spray sold at The Home Depot in a satin finish. It is satin but still gives a nice matte finish.

Love the lamp! In Sweden there are no good things to thrift like the ones you find :( Regarding the basket: I saw somewhere that you can put things under water outside for a period of time to make it look old. It gets darker and grey I think, but perhaps you can take it up to dry once in a while to check how it looks, and then put it in water again if needed.
