That piece is not a vase or a utensils holder. It is a wine cooling crock. Put ice in the bottom and set wine bottle in it to keep it cool.

Yes that is a wine chiller, you can store in freezer so it gets cold, then put room temp or chilled wine in it on table to serve. I have a marble one that lives in our freezer.

This last Saturday I went to our local flea market/antique store. Because of watching your videos and learning about items, I bought a stunning Murano glass dish for $5. I found one a little larger, different shape but same colors listed for $65. SCORE!!! Thanks for the fun and all the great info.

I love Lancaster. It was a favorite drive for me and my boyfriend. Rest his soul. We would always finish the day with a visit to Miller's Restaurant. They have a buffet. The food is delicious. It's not cheap and it's not expensive. It's somewhere in between. Worth it.

You can often soak those pieces in Oxy clean to help get the discoloration out. I've even done it with ironstone. If the stains are really bad sometimes it just lightens them, but I have good luck doing this with many pieces.

I knew the day would come when I would find my possessions on the shelves of a thrift shop. And low and behold, it was a lamp. It's not my lamp anymore. It's been tossed around. I gave my possessions TLC. Maybe I will go back to get it. The thing is I let it go once. The things I found value in were unique to my mind. I collect rubber stamps. I had a beautiful stash. I would not mind finding those stamps on one of those shelves.

a little FYI for all you thrifty shoppers out there when you come across a white coffee cup or teacup and you need to get it clean buy some generic denture tablets place your coffee cup or in a container that it can be fully submerged use very warm water not hot and drop three to four denture tablets in and let soak as you would dentures

That Goodwill had some great stuff today! The one near me had very little yesterday and I was disappointed. Prices were up since my last visit. They had a Vera Bradley obviously-used purse for $24.99! Similar VB bags sell new at Tuesday Morning for $11-12!

Meee too. I threw out steel cabinets, not one set but 2, cast iron porcelain sinks with the drain boards, and numerous outdated stoves and enamel-porcelain topped tables, over 40 years.
