I TOTALLY AGREE a full coverage foundation SHOULD cover pimples, acne, overall discoloration of the skin. What it won't cover/hide is texture. That's what a pore filling primers helps to reduce.
@kbbels5 жыл бұрын
What's full coverage to me will not always be full coverage for others. I think the term is subjective. Things that cover her blemishes usually end up looking cakey and feel heavy on me. I don't think terms they use to market will apply to everyone. The more contrast between your skin tone and your blemish or dark spots the harder it is to get full coverage. Just always take that into consideration.
@jordansimpson73875 жыл бұрын
I agree! Maybe not super red irritated healing blemishes, but definitely run of the mill dark spots and acne scarring!
@tattyuk755 жыл бұрын
I had acne for many years - sometimes as a teenager, very severe and then eased off over time. One thing I hated was that I could cover up redness but could never cover up the flaky skin and scabs because of those sorts of blemishes being so textured. It used to break my heart to see from a distance it looked great and then close up, you’d see it all. Products have come on leaps and bounds since then but as you say, texture is not something that can be made invisible by even the heaviest coverage. Took me a couple of decades to learn that though and thankfully, my skin has improved vastly...I just have wrinkles now which is another problem entirely!
@washedblue5 жыл бұрын
@@kbbels sure, but as a company, it is literally your job to stay up to date with terminology, public interests, trends, marketability etc. they need to know how their products perform. not everyone has the same results or preferences, but products naturally have a checklist. this one wasn't even buildable. concealer is meant for harsh spots, and foundation isn't meant to fix texture, but it should do the bare minimum of what it says. people are more knowledgable about cosmetics than they were in previous years. there is wiggle room, but labeling and selling something as full coverage when it's objectively not, is going to do more harm than good. it tarnishes trust with the brand, people lose money over smth they can't use, poor reviews, poor sales, etc. there are plenty of people who want low coverage. but with the over-saturation and availability of makeup now, there's no excuse for products that don't cut it.

Those Cover FX powders are both blush. No highlight. Definitely that shimmer blush would look dirty if you used it as a highlight, as it is way, way too dark for your fair skin. Try mixing them together and using as just blush. I think you will enjoy them much better

I don't like the elf concealer either! Cake/dry city no matter how i apply it. It has good coverage but that's about it.
@shelbielynne96095 жыл бұрын
Those people were right. Full coverage foundation is just supposed to cover all of your basic redness and discoloration, not obliterate all of your imperfections. Yes, nowadays there are foundations that do that, but those should be labeled as extreme coverage because foundation is supposed to be a base to even things out and then concealer is for hiding blemishes and darker pigmentation issues. Melissa Ethridge does a lot of videos about this type of stuff and it clarified things a lot for me. Light coverage adds a tiny tint to the skin. Medium coverage adds a bit more of a tint and covers minor redness. Full coverage adds even more tint and covers slightly darker redness and hyperpigmentation. It does not give you a blank canvas. That's the theory I go by when shopping for complexion products.
@shelbielynne96095 жыл бұрын
Also, I'm not sure if you know this but the best way to not get a white case when using dry shampoo is to let it sit for a few minutes before brushing it through your hair. That's actually how you're supposed to use it in general. I have black hair and I never get a white cast using that method.

Hi Cassie, I also found the ELF 16HR Camo Concealer to be a load of rubbish. And yes I also believe a full coverage foundation should cover everything. Tip For Oily Skin... In the last week, I've finally found a way to really control my super oily face. The Ordinary Azelaic Acid and Revlon Photoready Primer. After washing my face (Usually With Alpha-H Liquid Gold Resurfacing Cleansing Cream). I apply a thin layer of The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%, to any part of my face where I get oily. For me that's almost my entire face. It instantly mattifies. Then I apply my moisturiser, Estee Lauder Revitalizing Supreme Light+ or Estee Lauder DayWear Matte. But it could be any moisturiser. Then I apply Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer or Revlon Pore Reducing Primer. Both work really well at filling in pores, and smoothing out scarring and texture. They both mattify to the max. Then I apply my foundation. Either Dior Forever Foundation in 0N Neutral Matte or Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Matte Powder Foundation in 1N2 Ecru. But any foundation will do. It's The Ordinary Azelaic Acid and Revlon Photoready Primer that do the magic. They have managed to reduce my oil production by approximately 75%. That means a huge saving on blotting papers.

Have you tried the Clinique cleansing balm? How does that compare to other ones you’ve tried?!
@RHoDS7135 жыл бұрын
I tested the CLINIQUE, IT COSMETICS, and the FARMACY at one time (bought all 3 during sephora 20% sale for comparison). Let me say first that I don't like removing eye makeup with any of them because they all left an oily residue around my eyes, I felt like I had to rub more, and I had some burning issues. (CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is still my favorite go-to for eyes.) But for removing facial makeup, they all do an excellent job equally. 1) Clinique - feels most waxy of the 3 and takes a bit more time of working it into skin to dissolve into an "oil". Felt like I needed to use my CeraVe all over to finish the cleanse (to remove the waxy residue). It irritated my eyes but on the other hand, I liked the ingredients best in this one. It was also the most neutral smell. 2) it cosmetics - easily dissolves into the most luxurious balmy oil and feels the best on my skin. Dissolves easily when adding water to the face to make a "wash" so I don't have to double cleanse. It does have a smell that I can't quite figure out - it's not bad but it's not a perfume or citrus smell, maybe plant or mushroom like? 3) Farmacy - this was less waxy than Clinique but not as luxurious feeling as It cosmetics. A nice blend between the two. This was the least irritating to my eyes but the smell is distinctive - color of cleansing balm is green and it smells very "green" as well, citrus mixed in with a bit of parsley maybe? My favorite smell of the 3 (but my daughter hates it!). I'm currently using the it cosmetics and my backup is a Farmacy. I prefer both of those over the clinique solely because I don't like the waxy feel of that one. Hope that helps.
@cararichman17295 жыл бұрын
I've found that the only way I can use the Bumble and Bumble dry shampoo is to put it into my hair at night knowing it would be greasy the next morning. Sleeping on it keeps the oil under control and the white fades overnight.

Hi Cassie, I love the new background. I like to watch your monthly faves more for the concise reviews and your opinion, but I don't really like the pyramid. That Aerin fragrance with the honeysuckle sounds lovely! There are honeysuckle vines around the swimming pool for my condo building, and the past two weeks have been so sweet with them in bloom! My fragrance for the warm months is Miu Miu's "L'Eau Bleue". It has floral top notes (especially lily of the valley) with a bottom note of sandalwood. It smells "clean" and almost like a "clean" smelling men's cologne. I get compliments on it. Regarding foundations: A full-coverage one should absolutely cover dark spots and blemishes! It should almost turn your face into a blank canvas. SMH... Anyway, thank you for the foundation reviews. I was curious about the Maybelline one, but I am oily like you; so, I know that it would not work for me. The Pretty Vulgar one sounded interesting, too, but I am probably to pale to make it work. Cheers! ~Anastacia in Cleveland, Edit: Elf has a balm that helps to remove eye makeup. It comes in a stick. You swipe it over your eyes and eyelashes, let it sink in a moment, and then wash your face as usual. It is out of stock at the moment, but here is the link: www.elfcosmetics.com/eye-makeup-remover-balm/57049.html?cgid=skin-cleanser#start=7

Please mix the 2 shades of the cover fx blush. That's how I see them work best. They are technically 2 blushes cause if you look at the deeper blush shades that's the only way they can be used unless you have the darkest of skin. An you can try the matte blush first then the shimmer blush on top of the matte blush or just mix them on your brush. An peach looks great on you. Maybe your just not used to seeing it on yourself. But I think its stunning. An you and I wear the same foundation shade in every foundation. An peach blushes are my favorite but a year ago I had only worn pink or purple mauve blushes. Sony took time but now I buy every peachy blush I see lol Oh and you need to try the pat McGrath 3 deluxe lip gloss kits. Oh my lord what a great deal it is. Theres 2 different sets. I own both sets and I love them maybe more the fenty. Buts it's hard to choose.

Cover Girl Simply ageless instant fix concealer has given me my confidence back. Please give it a try. It is $12.00 plus change in Canada. I'm not sure how much it costs in the US.

Sassy Cassie is back haha 🖤 Could you put in the description how much you paid or how much the top faves sell for? That perfume caught my eye!

Those comments on full coverage were very odd. It felt like a backhanded way to tell ppl that they have cake face or are doing their makeup “wrong.” Pretending that they don’t know what full coverage implies. Watch an estee lauder double wear review or Marc Jacobs remarcable, even Fenty beauty is full, right? There are plenty of full coverage foundations out there to compare this maybelline one to, and the ones that get the best reviews from full-coverage enthusiasts are the ones that cover pimples, etc. This is not a new thing. Some ppl have different preferences to u, which is why there is a spectrum of sheer to full coverage. Let ppl do them, as they let u do u.

Christina Fernandez she is reviewing and using products for recommendations to others. The “you do you” is fine except, she’s being true to her audience reinforcing that she found the product misleading. If I am wanting recommendations on a full cover foundation, I want a foundation that’s full coverage. She was given all sorts of feedback that she was incorrect with full coverage expectations when she wasn’t. Full coverage is supposed to cover discoloration and blemishes. It didn’t. And she was criticized (sometimes rudely) when she was actually correct on what full foundation is supposed to be. It has zero to do with personal preferences and everything to do with whether or not the product performed as advertised ( and she’s not the only KZbin channel to find that it did not.)

I think it's safe to say that the majority of the time you don't like a makeup product is because you don't know how to use it and that your makeup skills need some work.

*HUGE Thumbs Up!* Yes, the makeup stuff is fun but ... you're volunteering at an animal shelter!!!! I could not be more proud of you for this. You now fall into the human hero category, in my opinion. :) thanks for taking care of them, Cassie, until hopefully they all find their wonderful forever homes. Only thing, how do you not fall in love with them all? My husband would get very concerned with my bringing home a new dog or cat or hamster or bunny or donkey every single solitary day. lol. (would save them all, if only I could.) 🐇🐁🐕🐴🐷🐔🐶🐱

haha I would adopt them all if I could, trust me!! I just try to remind myself that I'll get evicted from my apartment if I have any more cats and also remind myself that cats tend not to be happy with too many other cats around... my two boys seem to be happy with each other so I'll keep it that way for them :)

@@thriftthick Oh, I know you love them all. ;) I hear ya, we have two pups who are sooo bonded; they feel no need for another sister or brother. sigh, and because of vet bills and because sense must rule the day, (grrr) I'm forgoing a third. One day, I hope. What a rewarding thing to do, Cassie ... I'm so happy they *all* have you around to be their good-hearted pal.

I totally agree about the Elf Camo Concealer! There is not one good thing I can say about it! I definitely don’t see what the hype is about! 🤷🏼♀️

You can’t expect a full coverage foundation to cover a gaping blemish.... The one in your thumbnail was not a normal blemish girl. It was picked at and huge. You can’t do much about that because you are gonna see it no matter what is on it. That’s why people were commenting that, not because it didn’t cover normal blemishes.

The Covor Fx is highlighter and blush is too dark on you. It suits a medium to tan complexions
