I also have the ‘weird peachy olive skin’, and it’s been such a long journey finding my favorite products. I use to struggle with things pulling so purple/cool grey on me. Does that happen to you? Or are you an olive skintone that finds that everything pulls so orange and warm?

@@elizabeth_makeup95 I wish I knew what kind of olive I was! I know that olive and green foundations look the best on me and the most natural. I thought I was warm before, but EVERYTHING was always too yellow especially in foundations. Things also used to turn gray on me, especially when I was tan. I tried using a the givenchy peach corrector but it didn't seem to work as much as I wanted, and could be because it wasn't quite the right color. Finally, I ended up in the Armani foundation in 7.5 tan peach after years of mixing the 6.0 and 7.8 olive tones depending on how tan I was.

When you were talking about foundation and said "but not skin tint" I knew Lida Eldridge was coming! I recently bought it and was mad at how good it is. My skin has quite a bit of redness as I have mild rosacea, and despite being thin, this skin tint still covers up all the redness! Truly a holy grail!

@@Arnirien has the skin tint irritated your skin? I'm assuming it's in there in a pretty low amount. I wouldn't let it steer you away unless you REALLY really don't tolerate salicylic acid. I can wear it daily with no issue 🙂

@Arnirien that's definitely a tough one! I guess it all depends just HOW sensitive you are to salicylic acid. Like I said I'm guessing it's in there in a pretty minimal amount, so I really don't think it would irritate you unless you're super super sensitive to low amounts of it. If anything it may be a way for you to get some salicylic acid in your routine without irritation! I just LOVE the skin tint so I personally would recommend giving it a shot 🙂

kackie, i have to thank you for your channel. 2024 has also been a year of the highest highs and lowest lows for me, and through trying to get through an outrageously difficult year, i had your videos keeping me company. i think i’ve watched 90% of your videos, and they became so much a part of my life that after a few weeks my wife knew who you were. if my guess is correct about what you’re alluding to when you said that you learned to not be afraid of being disliked (i could of course be way off base because i only see the portion of your life that is on the internet) then thank god you did, because your honesty and bravery to say fuck you to groupthink and stand up for your values is exactly what makes your channel one of the safest spaces on the internet for me. i’ve lost a lot of family members and friends to groupthink in the past year and have also had to unfollow a lot of creators because of their views. if it’s what i think you’re talking about then i know what was on the line when you did what you did, and if nothing else know that it made at least one person (me) feel safer and more cared for. i hope the vagueness of this isn’t too confusing but i assumed you were being intentionally vague and i wanted to respect that. but im sure if you know lol, and if you don’t then i apologize for sounding like a parasocial weirdo LOL . anyway, thank you truly.

I have to say it's been an awful year for my skin, I felt like we were going through it at the same time I tried just about everything you mentioned when it came to your dermatitis, because I had it myself on my face and I would bring me to tears weekly. After you mentioned the First Aid Beauty moisturizer I went out and bought it immediately (like next day) and my skin has been better ever since. Thank you so much! Also....SAIL! I buy lots that you recommend and I've never been disappointed, but the Lisa Eldridge skin tint in T1 is hands down the best beauty product I've ever bought. And I say beauty not just make up as it truly seems to do more than a lot of skincare I've tried! It is absolutely incredible & I'm convinced my skin looks better when I take it off too! Tried out T2 and loved how it felt, altho the shade isn't perfect. One size didn’t appeal to me until I went into Sephora for the billionth time trying to find, yet again, a powder bronzer for my light olive skin and the newly hired makeup artist was like hold on, and put the One Size trio bronzer/contour palette in fair and the color is so truly neutral and works amazingly for my skin tone. I was so surprised and I love it!! It’s quite easy to work with. Can be worn lightly or built up and definitely lasts. I’m interested in secure the glow primer now though. I probably wouldn’t have tried anything from onesize prior though.

Happy New Year Kackie! I am also new to the channel. The color theory content has been a revelation. I have always been extremely color aware and it so refreshing to find a place where makeup is discussed in those terms. That said I feel like my personal makeup color theory boss fight is working with pigments like the ones from about face or haus labs. I want to mix them to change them from cool to warm but I feel like I end up making a big mess and wasting product.

WOOOOO BEST MAKEUP! My own 2024 faves : * Sigma Skin Tint (actually new this year) in shade 2 is neither too light nor too yellow, doesn't crust up, light coverage, doesn't have ingredients that break me out (RARE). * Dries Van Noten matte lipstick (not new, I think 2022? but new to me), esp Latin Carmine which, if you threatened to throw every lip product I own into a bonfire, she's the one I'd save first (followed by the Givenchy Deep Velvet in Grenat Fume). * Surratt 2-shades-plus-tiny-powder concealer palette (also not new but new to me), stiff but goes on so nicely with a pencil brush, doesn't oxidize. * GirlCult Psychic Somethingrorother lip gloss in Flowing Fire (new this year), sheer plummy-black base with green/blue sparkles. On the rare occasion I bother to do Big Dark Black Drama eyemakeup, but I feel like my usual darkish lip is way too much, but I /also/ feel weirdly naked doing a nude-ish lip? This is the perfect solution.

I heard of the Lisa eldridge tint through you, and I love it to bits. It was a testament to my faith in you that I bought it because I live in New Zealand, and getting it was like pulling hens teeth but out of a lions mouth. It and my dior stick foundation are perfect but I also bought the Missha (korean) perfect cover BB cream, also very good, I get so many compliments and less than half the price of the other two. So missha, day to day. Lisa, when I want to look pretty and light. Dior when I go out. I have taken quite a few of your suggestions this year. I also suit less pigmented makeup, so you have really helped...thank you

okok how much coverage do the other two have compared to Missha? i adore how missha looks and the lightest shade is my perfect match, but it doesn’t wear well on me so i wear it for quick errands :) good point of reference for me since i have it

​@dumalacath lisa wears very well. It's much tinner than the missha but has a lovely skin like satin finish..very subtle very natural. I'm usually around 2N so light medium. I have a touch of olive but her colours seem to be really good. Just because I libe across the world and getting it is expensive and time consuming, I tend to save it for nice days out. My two favourite foundations (not tints) are the chanel and the dior. When you put on the dior it's like spreading nothing. It blew my mind the first time. So buttery and easy to blend. It ends in a beautiful very skin like satin. I rate it so highly!! Have a look at my icon pic, I'm wearing the dior. But two things...I was transitioning into summer so excuse my neck and second...I'm 51 so keep that in mind lol. Good luck. I love all three. Can't go wrong.

HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO YOU and those you love. I was so fortunate to have discovered you earlier in 2024. I absolutely get the sense that you are speaking from the heart and not the wallet. So many people, whether creators, politicians, business owners, etc. may start out with the goal of being true to themselves and others .... but then ... the temptations put before them, whether products, money, events, etc, too often dissolve that initial intention. I've seen that too often throughout my many many decades. I too come from an art background and absolutely LOVE make up. I love the colors, textures, various applications, brushes, packaging, etc. Thank you for your content throughout this past year. You and Charlotte Holdcroft are by far my two favorite people to watch. I appreciate you both.

I have a fair olive undertone and it has been a challenge to find blushes/bronzers/lip products that don’t turn orange on me, and after this video I’m realizing it’s because of my undertone haha please do a recommendation video for blushes/bronzers/lip colors that work for different undertones. Congrats for your channel growth. Well deserved. I glad you doing something different was rewarded. I must be the only one that isn’t enjoying the Lisa Eldridge skin tint. It was my most disappointing product of the year 2024 because my expectations were so high. It looks like I wore it 12 hours after 10 min and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I can get the Patrik Ta look great but LE was awful on me. If anyone have pointers how to make it work let me know.

what’s your skin type? i don’t like skin tints because i have to build up a lot of product to get the coverage i w at in certain areas. but i’m being influenced toward this one. i have combo oily skin

Yup, the LE skin tint is kinda everything. Worth mixing two shades, that good. Agree, my skin is better on the days I wear it…curious what that ingredient is 🤷🏻‍♀️. Mahalo nui for sharing all your wisdom and experiences on this channel.

7:26 the fenty stick is the ONLY foundation that I’ve ever found that is EXACTLY my shade, and it’s the only thing I’ve ever bought a second one while I still had almost a full tube.. it’s so good 🫠
