Lot of Teaching Stuff esp. on YT dont have my Trust. Cause they dont give me the Feel of a closed Circle. They Theach "some" Stuff but they dont realy have a bigger Concept behind. On your Channel, it feels more like a Journey or Trip with a Goal, where i can begin my own Journey to go. I feel in good hands here! No wasting Time where i leave more Confusiosd then before. Great Concept!!

I'm very grateful :) :) :) The pentatonic hand grip only fits the 7 Modes (Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian, Locrian). In this lesson we use many other kinds of scales. But if you like doing the pentatonic hand grip just keep on evolving your Music with that grip - you don't have to know and play all scales. Simple Music is often the best Music! What i would like to learn is, how you use the Pedal to have a clear and clean Ostinato without getting to muddy and/or to thin. I know, this is not a Piano technik Scool. But some Advise would be cool. I can not identify what you do, only by hearing the Pedal Noise ;)

But when whe wanna go downwards the lower Register, i dont know when i have to lift the Pedal that the Sound get not abruptly too thin, or in the other way too muddy. Ahh, yes I understand. That's really hard to explain - I don't even know myself what I'm doing when being so specific haha. But I've opened the project files and made a screenshot of the recorded midi signals at the 07:48 phrase. On the top you have the notes being played, below the sustain pedal values; zero equals to pedal off, 100 is pedal on. All the included intervals over the dm7 and g7 are infact the same (transposed) with the exclusion of the M7 interval and over the Cmaj7 the m2 and m7 are excluded. How did you come to those rules tho and why, coz couldnt you technically use any 7 of the 11 notes at random and they would still transition smoothly on chord change?

Hi :) Yes, very well spotted, some of the scales contain the same keys. In this other lesson we learn more about families of scales kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKKVqadoeZiYaac But the idea in this lesson is to change the keys, the sound when going from one chord to the next to make the progression more 'moving'. And yes, correct, we can play any tone - as we for example do in this other lesson, playing chromatic together with arpeggios and blues scale over the ii-V-I progression. The rules are just to make a well-defined a field of study. But at the same time we extract some of the most used and common scales throughout western music history. Cheers from Oliver

Hi :) I don't think you should memorize all scales - I haven't - then I for sure get confused as well… Start out by playing just a single scale that you're fond of - simple Music is often the best Music actually.
