In the late 19th century, a small population of Japanese people immigrated to Peru to build a railroad. As the Japanese people’s lives began to intertwine with the Peruvians, so did their styles of cooking. But don’t confuse this with fusion: this Japanese-Peruvian cuisine is, in fact, a whole culture known as Nikkei. Sen Sakana is here to bring this style of food to the people of Midtown Manhattan.
