I feel like this is a great way to do things. Working on every stage little by little instead of focusing all attention on just one. It gives us players a bit more to work with, I think.

This is how Spore actually developed. The other side is lack of connection for stages. But this makes us glad anyway, so it's worth decision.

@@charlieking7600 im not an old person, and the example is less relevant. Upgrades in coc can take 20 days, long time like this game's development. Rts would is merely a few minutes in a fast paced game.

i'm a fan of Spore i love Spore and my friend is a big spore fan who loved this game since his childhood showed me this video that this game that is like a spiritual sequel to Spore, i can't download because my PC is broken i will check it out when it's fixed!

Good idea to build a skeleton of the game to build on, rather than having no defided concrete goals. It is important because there is no such things as a "finished game", there is only a game that is no longer developed. And unless you set goals, you will develop a game forever.

Normally you want to focus on one stage at a time but It’s actually a smart move to throw out all the stages in crude detail as a general outline because it creates a general outline for the future.

If player desires to take a simple swim in ocean even while being land only, unlike Spore where it punished you with an a hole sea monster for trying to cross continents, I hope to be able to swim amongst the generated fishys! Player's creature "Im gonna take a swim, I'll be right back honey" Mate: Okay darling! *smoosh* Bring back as much catch as you can... wherever you get it Player creature: I will *swims 1000s of miles to reach other continent* *looks at audience* What, the sea over there is plentiful this year, and I get a view to share with my mate heh heh

idea for visual stuff: if you had the creatures use the creature building of 'smoothteddy/magic pengel/graffiti kingdom/amazing island/rakugaki kingdom' then they could be made of blobs while still being customizable, by having different sized blobs attatched in a specific way would let players customize their creatures more, while still having a blobby multicellular look basically just draw the 2d outline of a blob and inflate it into a 3d shape from there there's a pdf from Siggraph99 called "Teddy: A Sketching Interface for 3D Freeform Design" that talks about the algo also it's on the unity asset store as "asset teddy"

Played it and was fun I didn’t realize 2 hours had passed. Just the unicellular stage is fun took me 3 tries to survive. And I got to the multicellular life I’m going to wait until it’s more done it’s to unstable. But I’m going to try other plays. I did a mostly photosynthesis maybe I’ll try to say at the bottom of the ocean.

if this game offers more directions than just evolving into a society it will be the most amazing evolution game ever... for example choosing to stay as animal where you can either be a flying creature or semiaquatic and aquatic (either stay as aquatic forever from early multicellular or return to water again after a while of evolving on land) or even a more dormant being like a fungus for example

Amazing! I've been following Thrive for about 4 years now, and It's just so incredible to see the game coming together like this. I can't wait to finally play through all the prototypes and reach the Ascension stage for the first time!
