My town was a battle field earlier between Japanese and British Indian . My grandfather who passed away in 2009 was on the beaches of Normandy 3rd wave. He was fortunate enough to survive. He went on to fight in the Battle of the Bulge as well and was going to be shipped to the Pacific Theater after that. He took shrapnel from a grenade and was sent back home to his loving wife, who is 95 years old and still kicking. Rest In Peace Grandpa, I love you

Between Battle of Bulge, Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Kursk I don’t which one was worse or how I would even rank those 3 crucial battles. Because if the Germans won even just 1 of those battles the War would’ve gone on even longer and with any luck they could’ve won. People talk about ice in their veins after hitting a clutch shot or doing the impossible……..these men had iceberg type of ICE in their veins and they would move mountains or die trying.
