Thank you for using anatomical diagrams to explain vocal knowledge, which reminded me of an interesting story about Zhou Shen. In June this year, during Zhou Shen's concert in Chengdu, he mentioned that a mosquito flew into his throat while he was rehearsing. He said that as a singer, he shouldn't be helpless against something that enters his throat, so he kept hitting high notes, and sure enough, the mosquito was crushed by the muscles in his throat. Haha, Zhou Shen is truly a very interesting person.🤣🤣🤣❤❤❤

'Under investigation ' is another art piece for Zhou Shen's ideas of adding Swan Lake chant and Italian proverb. And of course Corsak's piano playing n singing are also very cool ❤❤❤

《Under Investigation》is the theme song of a TV serial. It is about the struggles the protagonist faces in trying to go back in time to avert a tragedy that killed him and to find the truth behind it, the doubts about human nature and whether it's worth the effort, the temptation to give up since the world remains gray even after redemption, but the desire to make the right choice would prevail. Zhou Shen tosses in that piece from Swan Lake to allude to the white and black swans, the contrast between good and evil, and also the Italian quote at the end, which means: "There's a crack in everything, and that's how the light gets in."

Zhou Shen and Gai's version of Rose Boy does move me a lot for they are sooo great & amazing but both hv been bullied for unique voice and outlook 😢Fortunately they've overcome all the pains and now sang such song to encourage those ppl who are in need! I don't know if this was covered in the chat as I missed bits, but I believe the original song is by Jolin Tsai (蔡依林), and that "Rose Boy" was written about a young boy in Taiwan, Yeh Yung-chih (葉永鋕), who was horrifically bullied in school for being "effeminate", and tragically died in school at only 15 years old, in 2000. The official report stated that he slipped and hit his head, but his mother believed it was a deliberate attack and became an LGTBQ advocate. It caused big changes to the Gender Equality Act there and more understanding of different identities and expectations of how people should be. You can imagine just how close to home this must be for Zhou Shen, with all the childhood bullying and comments he still receives from others about his voice. Such a powerful and moving rendition of the song by both artists! Thank you for continuing to listen to Zhou Shen's performances :) it's great to learn more about singing and music too!

Rose Boy, A 15yo boy in 2000, thought to be too "effeminate" was found dead in his school's bathroom in a pool of blood . Dismissed by police and society as an accident. His mother fought to bring acceptance under law for LBGTQ youth in Taiwan and won. He is our equivalent of Mathew Shepard. Zhou Shen and Gai not only pay tribute to Yeh Yung-Chih but it is also about what both Zhou and Gia have had to endure. Zhou especially, Gia is tough he "doesn't care" but his respect for Zhou and others that are "different" is apparent in this. What they both want is for us to accept people for who they are.
