Lol just to tear down the valve train takes 19+hrs on these motors(with a expert), that's not including pulling/dropping the motor, putiing it back and refilling fluids, etc. Swap a couple of valve covers/pieces on the outside and be done. That noise hurts my head lol, glad you guys were able to rectify the issue for the costumer. For those shit talking them for not knowing what the issue was immediately from the noise, nobody knows everything and all that matters is that they figured it out and solved the issue, I'm sure they will know in the future what the noise is. Great job and keep doing what you're doing.

Very cool of Throtl to not only give away such a rad ride, but to get to the bottom of the noise, and make plans to fix it right away without no excuses or questions. Man, I would love to have a car like this one day!

@Macks MR2's (especially SW20's i.e. the model in this video) are very much a "cockpit" feel, you are quite literally surrounded quite closely by "the car", i.e., the big hump/centre consul in the interior is actually where the fuel tank is, for front/rear balance/ideal weight distribution purposes.... I'm 6'4" & own a hardtop ( i.e. no sun roof/s ) & I'm a snug ass fit - i use the maximum seat rearwards travel but I'm perfectly comfortable once I'm in. I have worked out a technique of getting in as even the O.E.M seats had reasonably big ( for an O.E.M seat) side bolsters ( adjustable!!!) most aftermarket seats are, - really a bit too big 4 MR's. Some "Bride" models fit O.K. The O.E.M seats are already pretty much on the floor & are at the sill level.... = lower centre of gravity = better cornering ability... If you ever get to look in the "Frunk" (front trunk) check out the battery location - as low as possible.... Excellent design ideas off of the drawing board....

Always always check your fluids coolant, oil make sure you have a belt running the water pump and alternator. Hear at idle on first start if something is off and fix that before driving and if driving and the temp or oil light start to move and get hot or read low oil pressure pull over and see and fix why it is causing the problem.

I cannot believe the way you guys handled this. Will be buying as much as my merchandise from Throtl now. Granted it doesn't look like you guys sell much for built Pontiac Solstices but no fear, ill find some way to support! I'm early in my build and plan a forced induction 1jz swap within the next few years so i will certainly support! Cheers! Side note, not many companys do not sell pontiac solstice merch cause its not the typical build/project car but that's why im challenging myself.

@@TN_AU LOL, they could have easily just not recorded them giving it away, they never had to help the guy, or fix the car. Its a giveaway, AS IS. But they went above and beyond anyways. I respect y’all for showing this. Regardless of all the couch mechanics “oh I knew immediately when I heard it”. Pssshh in the moment and excitement it’s easy to miss stuff. Especially if you drove it just yesterday and it worked fine. They took it upon themselves to fix their problem. That’s what counts. I bet in the future this will only make them better mechanics and a better company.

Had a subaru that i bought with a blown headgasket in the past. Sent the heads to the machine shop, new head gasket and everything else. Started a rod knock just miles later. Swapped in a new used short block and it was all good. Hated having to pull it all back out and buy more gaskets. Anything can happen in life or with cars, lesson learned and more time turning wrenches is all good.

I think it's awesome that you guys are showing this and doing right buy this customer. Having said that, if I were you I would do everything possible to ensure that motor is healthy even if it means getting it finished later than anticipated. Even if it means pulling the motor apart and inspecting the bearing surfaces and piston rings. It's more work than just a motor swap but it's less work than doing a motor swap for a potential third time.
