I AM GETTING ONE BECAUSE OF AN OLD ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS HIT HEAD-ON BY A DRUNK DRIVER IN 1983 AND MY LEFT KNEE WAS HIT PRETTY HARD AND REQUIRED 5 HRS OF SURGERY. I AM NOW 74YRS OLD BUT I STILL WANT TO RIDE UP TO THE TIME OF MY DEPARTURE FROM EARTH, SO A TRIKE WILL BE MY NEW BIKE. GLAD HARLEY DAVIDSON THINKS ABOUT IT'S OLDER RIDERS! ALSO, THAT IS WHY I LOVE HARLEYS BECAUSE THEY MAKE A BIKE FOR EVERY TYPE OF PERSON.

It's 2 years later, did you get your Freewheeler ?

I'm on my second TriGlide due to my wife's health issues. She has battled cancer eight times, maxed out on chemo, radiation and Cyber-Knife treatments. She is currently on immunothearpy treatments and will be every 28 days for the rest of her life. She's has twelve surgeries in ten years and now walks out in our garage with the help of a walker, climbs on our trike and we still ride when the weather permits. We have rode over 300,000 miles on two wheeled bikes in twenty years. I've been riding since 1964. I like the enforcer wheels on the Freewheeler because they look much easier to clean than the wheels on my Tri-Glide. I had to install a heel shifter on my trike due to the days I suffer with gout, just signs of getting old. Your description of the rear fenders are spot on, they do remind people of the Plymiuth Prowler. I like the look of the trunk without the light in the middle because it reminds me of an old service car and I think Harley wants to keep that look. Like I said before, mine is a Tri-Glide, but I never use the radio, blue tooth or GPS so I would be fine with a Freewheeler, but I would add a windscreen and a passenger backrest. And I did change the rear shocks to a pair of Progressive shocks and lowered the rear tire pressure to 20 psi and 28 psi in the front. Who knows, maybe next time I will buy a Freewheeler instead of another Tri-Glide!

My wife has one, the 114 M8 was already fitted with tuner, intake and exhaust by the dealer before we bought it. I had to drive it home for her because she didn't have her license yet. That first ride home was about 120 mile trip and I freaking loved it. I'm not ready to get off my ultra limited yet, but these trikes are bad ass. It handled great, I think it would take some intentional action of some sort to actually make the thing flip over.. very solid feeling.

This is going my next bike. Much more stable than 2 wheels and you're still out in the open like a motorcycle. I know old timers who ride 3 wheelers into their 80s. I'm starting to have joint issues due to arthritis so this will keep my riding dream alive.

At 75 years of age.. I don’t think I have to mention I’ve had my eye on the Freewheeler for a while. But my financial situation forces me to put it out of mind. Now.. after seeing your EXCELLENT presentation... my interest is re-energized. Will DEFINITELY go out and get myself a Lottery ticket and hope for the best..!!!!! Great video....!! 👍👍 Blessings....

I have a 2017 model. You definitely want the windshield! I also added the luggage rack to the trunk, as well as the rear bumper. I have enjoyed all-day trips and have gone camping with enough gear and for several days. The only downside I've had is the solid rear axle. If the road is rough, you feel it very much. I had to add the rider backrest because some bumps would nearly knock me out of the seat. It is a rough ride! I've adjusted the air shocks several times to find the best "sweet" spot, but it's still not enough. And mine had (and still has) a problem with reverse. Maybe they fixed it in the newer models, because this review says it's a separate moter. 2017 supposedly uses the starter motor! I avoid using reverse as much as possible and try to park where I can always be facing out, ready to take off. I definitely recommend spending some time on a test ride before you decide.

I very much like the look of these freewheeled/tri glide. Definitely add the windshield and back rests. Tour pack might be good if available for extra storage for quick access to small items. These free-wheelers have a lot of appeal for me having owned a bike with a side-car - they're a lot of fun and versatile,especially for doing the shopping with. Also very stable.

Nice scooter. I bought the 2022 model. I got the sunken gas caps in black, changed the handlebar grips, had the wheels and front end from the beer cans down powder coated in gloss black too, along with the exhaust shields. LED lights changing colors on the motor. Changed the headlight to LED from Halogen. All lenses changed to smokey, removed the reflectors. Added the rear bumper and luggage rack also powder coated in gloss black and the passenger backrest in pc black also. Had my seat cover stitched with diamond tuck with black thread. Once this is ready I will finally get to ride it. Next I will have new steel fenders in back with removable cover like on the Indians, and the front fender will have in steel like the Indian Chiefs. I have a permanently damaged Sciatica, degenerative disc at L2, and bulging discs. I laid my 2 wheel down on top of me when it pinched on me, so now I don't have to worry about putting my feet down to hold it up. Enjoyed your video. Awesome. Thanks.

With these gas prices this is a solid option considering a 2 wheeler can't store your riding gear like this can. More reliable than 99% of car manufacturers... I think ima get my first motorcycle soon and this should be a nice starter to get me in the hobby

After the release of the Sportster & the Pan American with the powerful and light revolution max engine that’s liquid cooled, smoother shifting, smoother running and fully counter balancing a full shift in productivity needs to take place. The technology involved along with the new engine is proof the days of the hot ass air cooled motors are over.

Can somebody tell me what the letters FLRT stand for, if anything? I see no definition for this acronym leading me to believe it isn't an acronym.
@garywillens7792 Жыл бұрын
Originally the F code was Harley-Davidson's in house code for a standard(6/1 cr, compression motor) of 74 cubic inches. The FL was the higher compression, 7/1 cr, motor. The H code indicated Higher compression ratio. Depending on family: the XLH/XLCH was 9/1 cr over the XL/XLC 7.5/1 cr.

No you actually can only fill it on the high side(non kickstand side). In some models they use the other for a fuel gauge. Some models just have one that doesn’t do anything. I assume just so it’s symmetrical. I like things to be symmetrical but it’s always bugged me that they did this. Haha

Question, in all honesty, I'm looking at the 22 RT Limited Spyder and 22 Freewheeler, I had a 16 Road King and was hit by a pickup truck. I'm drawn more to the Freewheeler but I've never been on one. I tried the Spyder and it handled like I was on rail, now how do you find the Freewheeler handles in town and highways. 2 wheels up front makes sense for handling but the Harley sounds soooo good and 114 is amazing
@throttleblip98542 жыл бұрын
So I’ve only been on a spyder for about 3 mins so my opinion on them doesn’t carry much weight. The freewheeler however I can speak on. It takes time getting used to turning in the turns instead of leaning. I grew up on 3 wheelers that were SUPER easy to flip. I cut some tight circles on a freewheeler to see how it handled and I’d say you’ve have to try really hard to get a wheel up. I’d definitely go ride one before buying either. Looks wise I like the freewheeler MUCH more. I’ve seen some wild ones. One had a 120R on it, another had a turbo. Haha
@macwiller21052 жыл бұрын
@@throttleblip9854 I'm going this Thursday afternoon to take one for a test ride. And I'm 100% with you on looks, well I was in love with my Road King and the freewheeler reminds me so much of it. Basically if I don't feel comfortable in turns/curves I'm thinking I'm gonna go the spyder route 🤷 but from what I seen you'd have to ride like a dick to get in trouble on the freewheeler. I'm going to look at the Reef Blue one. I'm excited. If I like it, my plans are a Rekluse clutch and stage 1 with TAB exhaust
