If they offered the Camry’s exterior with the Sonata’s interior that would be perfect
@moogle682 жыл бұрын
I've always thought the last 2 Gens of the Camry have looked FANTASTIC, especially some of the performance trims. I can see how someone could think they are over styled/crazy looking, but I have never actually met anyone that has said that out loud, meaning that's probably a minority opinion that has more to do with subjective preferences than the objective quality/appeal of the design. I also think the Sonata looks amazing, and never noticed the Catfish similarities to the front end until it was pointed out to me. Even after seeing the similarities, I have to be intentionally trying to notice that comparison for it to come into my head, which means it wins for me in looks both inside and out. The ONLY drawback to the Sonata is not having a single trim with an engine that's even *remotely* engaging. I haven't seen the N-Line version, and don't know what/if any changes have been made to the engine for it, but if it increases HP/torque, bore size, or low down torque availability then that would make it almost perfect value for money, in my mind.

The Camry is an astounding car and that is coming from someone that owns a W211 E350 and E92 328 Stage 1 coupe. I drove a 2022 over 2000kms through Vermont, New Hampshire and Upstate NY and was utterly relaxed, comfortable and in control The car handled the twisting notches of Vermont with confidence, carved tight backroads with minimal body roll, had enough power to do passing maneuvers at 75mph+ and on top of that, got incredible fuel economy. At elevation and sustained speeds of 70+mph, I saw 30mpg continuously, even touching 35mpg.. The seats were unbearably comfortable, on par with the best BMW thrones, the tech worked flawlessly and the transmission was quick reacting and unobtrusive. Even the engine sounded good, for a 4 cylinder and power was more than adequate even driving spiritedly and through the Green and White Mountains where elevations push 1200m+. Lastly, the base sound system was completely satisfactory. The JBL would be a good deal better, I'm sure but as someone who has the HK in the Mercedes and a tweaked Logic 7 in the E92, the Camry's audio quality was inoffensive and totally acceptable. I would buy one in a heartbeat!

One thing to add is that in Canada - you have to pay around $2500 to get a warranty that matches what you get on a Hyundai as standard. All Hyundai cars come with 2/40,000Km more bumper to bumper warranty. So it is something to consider when talking about comparing the Genesis/Hyundai/Kia group to all the other makers.

I'm a pretty big Hyundai fan -- from the early 2000s. It's nice to see what they are doing now, although I miss the simplicity of their older cars. That said, if / when Toyota makes a Camry with AWD it could be a gamer changer. Aside from Subaru, with their CVTs, you really can't get an AWD sedan unless you go into the luxury market. Although I suppose the new Mazda3 would be an exception to that (in the compact category). Anyway, it's great to see this trend. I really love AWD -- don't think I can ever go back to FWD or RWD only. I live in the rainy pacific northwest and don't like one-wheel-peels when I take off. And AWD is a nice option for going up into the mountains (for skiing) or out into the state parks (for shooting guns). hehe.

This is too late, but the Ford Fusion has been available with AWD and heated steering wheel (in Titanium Package). My wife drives a 2015 so equipped. My search criteria were: 4 door sedan, AWD, heated seats/steering wheel, and red color. It having 4 cyl ecoboost w/ 220 HP is a bonus. Will need to replace in 2021 with same spec. Good to hear the camry will offer it, as she drove a camry for 8 years before the fusion and liked it (but it had the 6 cyl.)

Show Me What I Need To Know I feel the same way, except about the Accord. If the Accord was an AWD 2.0T I would stop leasing BMW’s and buy an Accord.

The Camry will always have a disadvantage on features as it's not a flagship for Toyota, the Avalon is. The Sonata is the flagship. It makes sense they would have more features.

Julio Blanco I'm not sure about that one. Firstly I would stay away from a used turbocharged Hyundai. The new (untested) port and direct injected 2.4 sel plus would be my pick, brand new of the lot. Hopefully the inclusion of port injection will help with the carbon buildup in the engine, but again, it's new so who knows how it will hold up long term? Right now you can get a base 2019 sonata for around $15,500 and a sel for $18,500 brand new so expect the same deals on this one in around a year's time. The problem if you are planning on keeping it for 6+ years does that extra $4,000 -$5,000 dollars you are saving buying the sonata offset it's less than stellar resale value over the Camry? It's a conundrum for sure.

When it comes to selling, the Camry owner will walk away with a smile. Can't say the same for the Hyundai owner

The XSE only has 2 functional exhaust pipes. The other 2 are just welded next to the real ones but aren't connected to anything behind it. So many good mid size sedans these days can't really go wrong with any of them. For my money though I'd take the Mazda6.
@naveenkrishnamurthy75764 жыл бұрын
According to research while 2 pipes are functional, the other 2 tips are connected. When the gas flows out of the pipes, it then splits apart Like a Y shape

I work at Toyota. The PCM can hold multiple tunes, it's effectively how you have drive modes. Go to a Tuning shop, have them only tune the Sport Mode mapping. Retain Normal + Eco modes, and also have ApeShit™️ mode at the click of a button. Also, we used to make factory superchargers, they're bolt-on.
