What I've learned: if a car reviewer says a car is slow, it's actually quite quick and you won't be lacking for power 95% of the time

No joke, this confuses me. My 18 Mazda6 with turbo has 310 ft lb of torque, and I feel like off the line it's got some really good torque. They never reviewed the torque and power of the car when they reviewed it, so idk how they feel about it. But I've seen them say some vehicles that are clearly faster than my car are only decent.

Almost every car has all the power you want 99% of the time. Short of getting on highways or towing, even the cheapest of cars is relatively quick these days.

I bought a 2013 Elantra GT new, and over 205,000 miles, I've replaced 1 battery and 4 sets of tires. Clutch, brake pads, hell, even the head and tail light bulbs are original! It's been a faithful member of the family, helping us graduate 2 kids, my commute, and about a thousand trips ferrying drones and RC planes to spots all over the US, but mostly here in coastal Florida. It hasn't had an easy life, and yet the car has asked so little in return, I'm stunned what a great car Hyundai put together!!! And it's not a fluke - my fiance has an Accent with almost 150,000 miles, that we bought at the same time, with only a few minor maintenance issues too! Both of the cars can swallow a ton of gear, eat the miles comfortably, and mine gets 35.5 mpg. I can only imagine how good the current Hyundai lineup is, based on the quality of our 2013's, but we highly recommend.

I’m the owner of a 1.6t sonata. Honestly the engine isn’t as bad as most reviews say it is. Won’t win a race. But yet isn’t slow either. You put that on sport and switch to paddle shifter and you can easily get the car moving pretty fast. In the 2 years I’ve owned it I’ve gotten a ticket for speeding and not enough knowing it. And this is from someone that owned an Infiniti q50 3.0 v6. I love my sonata. It’s the first car that has enough HP looks very good and has all the tech I could ask for. I can’t say enough about it. Once paid off I’m going to make minor modifications to it just to smooth it out a little but more. I’ve recommended this car to many people already.

I've driven two Limiteds and and an SEL Plus over the past couple of days. While no speed demon, the car does not feel underpowered and the ride is quite composed. The interior quality is outstanding as are the front seats - very long thigh cushion provides more support than expected. Infotainment is outstanding for me - I run CarPlay so the lack of buttons is of minimal concern for my needs. The looks are subjective, but I think the color you choose matters. Mine will likely be a Limited, black/black. I'd prefer matte black plastic to the piano stuff, but cest la vie.

I remember when I was a kid and Hyundai’s were extremely cheap and low value. My family now has two (a 2016 Sonata Sport and a 2017 Sante Fe Sport) and they are AMAZINGLY good value for money, especially lightly used. Both cars were less than $18k with 20,000 miles and I was very impressed with the amount of features, as well as quality, for that price. Great cars for budget-conscious buyers that don’t care too much about performance.

I really appreciate how Hyundai took a risk with the headlight DRL design. It just bugs me how the light strip on the hood literally looks like a light strip. I wish it was seamless meeting up to the headlight.

The steering issue guys is actually the factory camber. Cars set from factory may be set for driving on other side of the road. A wheel alignment will fix as it can be out as much as 6 degrees which will effect autonomous lane keeping as car naturally veering to factory camber. Hey you guys need a chick who loves cars to explain!? LOL

AJ Lee instead of spending all that money on options, you should have bought a real car, like a 540 or M550. The 530 sounds and accelerates very similarly to a lawnmower. A 4 cylinder in a luxury midsize sedan is absolutely pathetic.

2016 F15 N55 remote parking only cost $700....I live in a populated city, with a short city commute. I don’t need a powerful vehicle. Besides, I don’t buy cars, I lease them. What’s the point of buying an deprecating asset that I’m going to trade in a couple of years anyways.
@mattX5
@mattX5 4 жыл бұрын
AJ Lee i don’t know where you live, but that isn’t anywhere close to a $700 option. The key fob that has the screen is $1,000 for a replacement so how on earth do you think it’s a $700 option?
