Agreed. The $16k less for the 740 is a significant achievement...that's 16%! In razor thin new car profit margins, that's a fortune. The biggest shortfall in objective automobile reviews is familiarity. The quirky eccentricities of any new vehicle will likely impart the same initial impression, but the familiarity that comes with actual ownership and miles behind the wheel take those dynamics to a wholly different level. I'm obsessed with the design aesthetics of the Genesis lineup. Only time will answer the questions about the aggressive rws. I would love to experience this car.
@iSOBigD2 жыл бұрын
Seeing as you'd mostly use it while doing a U turn or parking, you would mostly be using it at very slow speeds while not sitting in the back, so it's a non-issue. It helps turn faster in a smaller circle, and at high speeds the car strafes a little so it wouldn't feel too weird.

The deal breaker with the upcoming 740i is that, at least in the U.S., it is RWD only whereas the Genesis is AWD and far better for most northern climates. Also, the new 7 is ugly as sin but that's more subjective.
@DQ3332 жыл бұрын
RWD is not always deal breaker. By far more comfortable on a highway, better ride quality and steering dynamics and better economy. Slower off the line yes, but perhaps better on the top end. @@DQ333 I'm figuring out the mental gymnastics of how RWD leads to better ride quality and steering dynamics over AWD. And winter tires + RWD is still totally inferior to winter tires + AWD.

These new G90’s are seriously a work of art and are leveling up to the S Class & 7 series even though quality on those brands are declining rapidly. Especially BMW. The direction the Koreans are taking the industry in with good quality, design and tech at an affordable price is starting to show as Hyundai/Kia are coming strong in this decade so far with sales since 2020 at an all time high. Even passing Honda sales in 2021 . That’s massive. I wasn’t a fan of Hyundai/Kia growing up but they have changed my mind and I respect what they bring to the table now. Especially with this Genesis brand!

What do you think of the 2022? I have the original 2019. Thinking about getting the 2023 at some point, but the dealer situation is very irritating. Taking a car I paid $75,000 for to a Hyundai dealer that doesn't even give me a loaner car is getting old.

I seriously love the interior and exterior design of this car, particularly from the D pillar back. Oh, and the wheels are stunning! If I were allowed to change a couple of small details, I would make the grill a little less pointy at the bottom and give it a 3 spoke wheel. But unlike the S Class or the 7 Series, the more I look at this car, the more I love it.

Just a great review guys, your content never fails to brighten my day. I love the design of the G90 - sleek, elegant and really nicely proportioned with lovely wheels. The interior continues that theme and looks a really nice place to spend some time. For me, the difference between the G90 and a 740i is that I would buy a G90, but I wouldn't even consider buying a modern BMW - they are strictly a lease-only option as far as I'm concerned.

7 Series in Canada starts at $142k, G90 starts at $115 - so it's almost 30 grand cheaper. Once you start adding just a few options to 7 series - you get to over $160k.. so Genesis is a great value.

Genesis is an interesting company. They saw what Lexus did in America, 30 years ago, starting out with one great vehicle, and the rest of the brand was built on elite customer service and outstanding advertising.
