I love when Brett brings in historical texts and archaeological evidence to show how ACCURATE and RELIABLE the prophecies of the bible are. It's truly faith building. People should know.

Yeah, I had never heard that one about WHY every stone of the Temple would be torn down, (because the silver and gold had melted into the cracks and had to be salvaged from each stone.)

I love, love, love this church. It is so pure and honest. I am "very seriously" considering moving to Oregan to make this Church my home. Athey Creek fills my heart with joy and peace. If anyone has any suggestions on good, safe, inexpensive places or areas to rent in or near Athey Creek, please leave a comment under this comment. Thank you.

Your comment on synchrotism (probably spelled wrong) is so true. "Christianity has been redefined so many times in order to be more inclusive. So much that its almost lost its meaning and many real Christians no longer use that term to identify themselves. If people are able to redefine it then they can expand the boundaries so that seemingly all people could be included. But the road is still narrow. Gods standards have never changed. Great message!

All my favorite pastors have been more like teachers, like Pastor Brett, rather than preachers. He has the gift of making the Scriptures come alive. (On a side note, someone bumped the volume slider at 1:12:56). Some years ago the young guy in the sound room of a local church was getting bored during the sermon, so he put on some Christian Rock music to listen to through his headphones. What he didn't realize was that the music also came blaring out through the main speakers of the church. Someone had to go up to the sound room to tell him to turn it off.🤣

Teachers rather than Preachers. Love that. Makes a difference I think...

@@joidavis5210 Don't get me wrong about Preachers as they have their place, (Billy Graham would be an example; loved that guy.) But all my favorite teaching Pastors seem to be retiring such as David Reagan (Christ in Prophecy). I learned so much from him. John Hagee too, as he is letting his son fill in for him more and more.

I don’t know why Brett would want to “be careful” with the words when it comes to touching women subjects… it is perfectly biblical to note the differences between men and women. My wife says she is more than OK when the bible relates to men and women as we are. Abuse is abuse regardless of men or women but the bible is perfectly clear about our roles. At the end we are equally sinners to eyes of God and we both need redemption and salvation! All the Glory to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!

It is disappointing that an otherwise really interesting study of Nahum had to end on this left turn into "...and that's why homosexuals are the reason society is dying." Some of us who seek good teaching ARE gay, and we grew up in these same churches, and despite being told all our lives explicitly or implicitly how unwelcome we are in the faith and how WE specifically are cursed (it took me many years to overcome a suicidal mindset as a direct result, believe me that I don't take saying 'I'm gay' lightly, I KNOW by heart all Christian teachings on this), we still believe in Jesus and His gospel, many of us practice abstinence on account of it, but still have to be met with reminders that nothing we do is good enough. Gay bad, the end. I wouldn't ask an entire religion to change their minds on one issue, just plead for compassion and understanding, that there ARE people in your church who may be gay, and silently suffering for it, and they should not have to. It comes across entirely as "We are all sinners...but you especially are doomed, lol". I have nearly lost the will to live on so many accounts because of this framework. Please, for the love of God, we need Jesus too, and maybe blaming the downfall of societies on our existence isn't going to help anyone find Him who is hurting and broken in heart ALREADY. That said, I gleamed some beautiful things from this study, I enjoy this pastor's tone in that even if he says something I disagree with he is calm and collected. God bless everyone in these turbulent times, hold on to the hope of Christ. Thank you!

The Bible IS the standard. Repentance is necessary, for God to heal and restore. It is possible, but repentance IS a necessary part of salvation. I have been in the church a looong time, and I hear what you are saying. It doesn't change the standards of the Bible. If you change the Bible, you WILL be condemned. Not me saying that, the Bible says that! Sorry but truth sometimes hurts, but doesn't make it any less loving or truthful.... I hope the Holy Spirit works on your heart to help you see His truth!! God Bless you! ❤️❤️❤️

@@warivergirl Thanks for your reply! I sincerely hope people who see my comment know I do not look to fight with Christians. It may perhaps be that there is some shred of kindness leftover from God for me. I hear you, I hold the Bible as the standard - unfortunately, all of that belief, deep in mind and heart, does not make me not gay. I still have faith that God is able and will always do the right thing. He will not and can not act unjustly. I do not think conversion of one sexuality to another is the issue. Were God to 'poof' me straight I would still be a sinner. Rather it is faith on Christ. God bless you!

@@ledojaeger7474 you are right, while on earth, we will ALL continue to be sinners, and continue to stuggle with sin. Even the apostle Paul who wrote a very large part of the New Testament, who was used magnificently for God's purposes says he "does the things I don't want to do", (Ephesians) and clearly struggled with sin. The main thing is NOT to give in and live in sin. Living in sin IS rebellion against God. I pray that you are able to overcome the demonic lie that God made you a sinner. That was, NEVER His (God's) plan! That is the enemy's lie!! The enemy tempted Adam and Eve . They rebelled against God and became fallen sinners. God didn't want that to happen, and His plan is that all could be saved. People make their own choices! God is the ultimate gentleman, and gives everyone a choice and doesn't force Himself on ANYONE! Can't say that of the devil! The enemy will do ANYTHING to get what he wants😫 Christians CAN overcome him in Jesus power/name! Jesus already DEFEATED the evil one!! 🙌Hallelujah🙌 God Bless you, and keep striving to be a faithful Christ follower. Find solid Christian friends who can help you along in that journey and be accountable and to keep you holy. "Bad company corrupts good character"😉😊😇 Christian's MUST help each other be faithful, and they can do that in loving and helpful ways!! Your sister in Christ, Tina😇😁🥰
