THROUGH THE HIGHLANDS BY TRAIN: LNER - Inverness to Edinburgh

In today's video, I'll travelling through some breathtaking scenery of the Highlands from Inverness to Edinburgh, on LNER's Class 800 Azuma on their once daily service from the far north.

My wife and I are thinking about booking a trip to Inverness and Aberdeen from Newcastle and didn't actually know there is a direct LNER train all the way to Inverness. Ok, it's only once per day, but we like the Azuma trains and the ability to pre-book seats with LNER. We have to work out timings though .. maybe best to travel to Aberdeen first, then up to Inverenss before returning directly to Newcastl. Regards from Whitley Bay

I'd definitely recommend Inverness, especially at this time of year! The train leaves Newcastle at around 3pm and gets to Inverness at around 8pm. Coming back it's roughly 8am-1pm.

@@FrecciaNeraM36 Thanks for your reply. On checking times etc I think the best way is NCL - INV for 3 days, as you say, arriving late on the first day then INV - ABD for another 2 days, before taking the mid afternoon direct LNER train home (NCL) from ABD. Regards
