Never seen someone explain it this way. Tried it out and it made a big difference. Thank you!

Just got back from the range and made some very solid contact throwing the club. Last round I played I was very quick at the top and couldn't get myself to slow down. This slowed me down and helped me from coming over the top. Also widened my legs from another video. Had to limit myself to a couple of changes. Your explanations are great. Thanks!

That is a very good way of explaining the swing. If performed correctly that will solve a lot of issues in the swing, great job.

Ohhhh, 'throw' it THAT direction! Nicely explained and very helpful. Off to the range to see if that helps with yardage, thanks.

I had thought it was throwing towards the target, but now I feel I may get it right throwing it into the ground behind me. I did have a friend who actually threw his driver 30 yards down the fairway. Since then, he has been known as... "His driver really goes far."

This is actually the most powerful element of the swing in my case, plus it automatically engages proper body rotation.

I was taught this, many years ago. It's golf swing gold! If done correctly, you'll truly feel the weight of the club head at the top of your backswing.

Great tip, helps reduce thoughts in your back swings, just throw it. Thanks

This is my #1 feel. When you feel it for the first time it’s very eye opening. Very short small tug at the top in back of you and the rest sort of naturally happens. You feel the weight of the club take off. Gained some distance and hit it in the middle more often. This is a GREAT feel / drill

This. Is. Such. A. Great. Lesson! Yeaaaas! The way I think about it: pretend the grip doesn’t have tape/adhesive and try to slide the grip off the club from the top of the back swing… keeps hands ahead of the club head and yes, prevents casting wonderfully! Good swing feel… btw, is coach c from Scandinavia?

Carolin, really like this downswing tip of how to initiate the arms to increase lag. Like the fact you included need to shift towards the target to get this downswing started. What is confusing to us amateurs is which wrist angle you’re trying to increase? It looks like you’re increasing the vertical wrist hinge / wrist cock? If it’s already at 90 degrees to your lead arm, does it really help to try to increase that further? Won’t that simply lead to you cupping the lead wrist? Maybe it’s the trail wrist angle that you’re trying to increase? Please help? Also having avoiding the casting motion and created some club head lag in the downswing. When do you start to release it? Would this be a continuous release provided you move correctly into your lead side? Myles

Quick question. I hear a lot about width and depth in the swing. Do you mind explaining these?
@coachcarolin2 ай бұрын
so width is the distance between your hands to your chest throughout the backswing (best seen from face on view) and depth is the relation of your hands to the center of your chest throughout the backswing (best seen from Down the line view). So the further behind the center (or left of the center of your chest) your hands are when you look at your swing half way back, the "deeper" you are. This applies to a right handed golfer. Let me know if that makes sense!
@halloffame5442 ай бұрын
@ I think I get that. A lot of both are good...right? Also, trying to let my driver pass my hands has been absolute magic for me. Thanks again for that advice. I'd like to send you and your husband a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant for all your help!?

Well if you literally practiced throwing the club towards the target, it would also give you the lag and release as a bonus.

Isn’t that the same as….feel like your “pulling the club handle down” which most say is a BAD idea or thing to do in the downswing ?!
@PSINXS2 ай бұрын
no its not
@coachcarolin2 ай бұрын
No it is more of pushing the handle away and behind you, this move doesnt pull down into the actuall downswing much but is really only the 5-10cm at the top of the swing.
@MrHaaspaul2 ай бұрын
@@coachcarolin Thanks. Do you have any advice for my problem of I can’t seperate my lower and upper body when I turn back or through which causes my rear shoulder to go out first instead of down which causes me to hit on the heel of my club ? Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks again.
@steves34222 ай бұрын
@@MrHaaspaul Yes, push - not pull; a mistake I made for quite awhile. Do both and feel the difference. Pull sometimes causes your wrists to begin to unhinge too soon (early release). Once I started the push (vs pull or drop), my lag increased and maintained better left arm straight thru the swing. Think not pulling down, but pushing the grip away, can be subtle. This game is so easy, not........

This is horrible advice. Who throws the butt end if the club. Thats bot a natural motion. Does a pitcher try and hold the angle?
