+Jake Henry Wade was better than Lebron the in 2011 Finals, the same year Lebron ran away from Cleveland to go join Wade. Could you imagine if "the best player in the world" had won his first ring ever as the second best guy in the Finals? Lebron "choked" and "shrunk" for a reason. His ego could've never handled Wade's Finals MVP, especially his first year joining Wade's team.

One of the best Playoffs series. Evenly match teams and both of their crowds behind them all the way. We had more loyal fans back then than now. The Heat where stacked then. DWade,Shaq,Damon Jones, UD,Alonzo Mourning, Eddie Joes. Pistons, Chauncey B, TPrince, Rip Hamilton, Ben and Rasheed Wallace just two great teams. I miss teams like these when the GM actually look for mutual interest for there team instead of big names and build a dynasty. #NBAFANTHO

TheRexrapper They were discussing the Next 10 Greatest Players after the Original 50. Kenny Smith brings up Wade and Shaq says he would take Tracy Mcgrady and Penny Hardaway over Wade. He even says Gary Payton over Wade. Webber says Shaq got Wade that Title. Shaq laughs at what Webber says. Later in the show they bring up Wade again and Reggie says Wade earned the Title and he was averaging 35 and Shaq says "who was"? Reggie tells him that Wade got him his 4th and he single handedly won that Ring and Shaq sits there in silence. Reggie, Thomas, and Kenny say that Wade should be on the list and Shaq still says he takes Tracy and Penny over Wade. He kept insulting Wade by putting those 2 above him and even agrees with Webber saying that he got Wade that ring, all whole wearing the Ring Wade got him. This isn't the only insults he has done towards Wade. He called Wade Wonderboy in 2009 after they split. He then says "Wade was the other guy" in all of his Titles calling Wade the 2nd option. This last one was recent it was in May of this year.

05 was an amazing run, Heat swept their first two series (Nets & Wizards if I recall correctly) and then met this equally amazing Pistons team. I think if Wade doesn't get injured at the end of game 5 we probably win this series which was no joke because the Pistons were tough! Ultimately this Heat team lacked quality depth and would suffer every time Wade or Shaq weren't on the floor. The addition of Alonzo Mourning helped greatly at the end of the year (in 05) but Riley did the right thing by trading for Posey, Williams, and Walker- also signing Gary Payton in the 05 offseason. That ultimately got us over the top and provided us with the depth needed to go deep in the playoffs. No doubt we also benefited from Larry Brown leaving the Pistons (to join the knicks no less LMAO). Those 04-06 Pistons teams man they were tough.

Crazy to think these two teams met back to back years in the ECF with different coaches for both. In 05 the Pistons had the coaching advantage but that flipped in 06 with Riley vs Flip. Flip was a great offensive coach but his offenses stagnated in the playoffs and he wasn’t good at adjustments on top of him changing the Pistons defensive scheme ultimately made them less formidable in the playoffs

Don't forget this was the same Pistons team that had, embarrassed Shaq Kobe 3 peat team , 4-1 on way to championship. and this year it took spurs 7 games to beat them. And Wade pretty much by himself had them in their knees b4 getting hurt missing game 6 and playing hurt in game 7. From game one Wade only grew bigger with the moment perhaps faster than any other player ever. Please don't even put hardens in Kobe Wade pedigree. There was time Kobe couldn't beat Wade, Lebron couldn't beat Wade, even with Better teams. 12-2 record on Christmas Day games a lot of played against Kobe and Lebron. Nuthing to take away from lbj or Kobe they get their dues. Do you guys know there was 15 straight nba season which saw either atleast one out of Duncan, Kobe, or Wade in the NBA finals. watching this makes me feel that at that point wade was better than lebron 2nd year player and was breaking apart one of the best all around teams (specially defensive teams of the 2000-2010 decades). a team that collectively defended wade was just toying with them. never seen lebron handle that type of pressure, we should be really thinking was lebron even better than wade. wade willingly took a back seat to lebron when he came down to miami, but he wanted to lift lebron. if lebron could have played outside of the lebron james system d-wade could have been the main scoring option and the heat would have won 4 of 4 nba finals. but the lebron james system only won one definitive a second that should have been lost and loss to an underdog and got humiliated in another one. d-wade was touching mj levels i missed those days, but i will never forget.

makes you wish that miami traded shaq walker in summer 2006 both of whom were clearly about to be steeply overpaid cause they were already on the decline and gettong older lazier due to winnng but still valued at the time and worth a lot in a trade to match salary for free agent lebron I mean cavs may have done it if riley got lebron to listen to him and we could of seen them team up in their true peaks with an ok team around them....like lebron wade zo haslem williams is a nice starting 5 with posey off the bench and payton...thats title worthy in 2007

Wade is one of the best players attacking in the P&R as a ball handler. His ability to split the defense is the best. Even with the Pistons throwing a wall at Wade and double & triple teaming him, Wade still can find a way to carve the defense cause he understood angles and was very shifty in his movements, so he was able to go around defenders no matter what

Rookie Wade was way better than rookie Kobe, Prime Wade was better than kobe's but shorter (because of injuries). Overall, these two SGs are already in the top 3 of all times, behind Jordan. On topic: The series against Detroit in 2006 ECF, and his performance against Dallas in 2006 finals and 2011 finals, are the three best playoffs performances since the 2000s in NBA, and all of them belong exclusively to Wade. Even the best Lebron series can't even touch any of those three legendary series.

***** Wade in his prime Finals performance was better than any of Lebron's. Lebron sabotaged the 2011 Finals because Wade would've been the 2011 Finals MVP. Had Lebron won his first Finals as the second best guy, Lebron's legacy as the self proclaimed "best player in the world" would've been severely damaged. People would've always remembered that. So it was smart of Lebron to wreck 2011.
@MrGriff305
@MrGriff305 8 жыл бұрын
+Jake Henry 2011, the year Lebron ran away from Cleveland to join Wade, he "choked" in the Finals when Wade was outperforming him. Thank God Wade didn't get Finals MVP, because then the "best player in the world" would be riding Wade's coattails as the second best on the team, and everyone would've always remembered how Wade gave Lebron his first ring.
@MrGriff305
@MrGriff305 8 жыл бұрын
+Jake Henry In 2006, Dwyane Wade decided the Heat were not going to lose, so he scored 40 ppg in 4 consecutive wins to get the first Championship (all in sub 100 pt games). That was among the most dominant Finals performances of all time. Wade then had the best PER in the 2011 Finals too, but the "team chemistry" hadn't been established yet.

It's not a given whether Miami would've beaten San Antonio that year but anyone saying SAS would've smashed us is either a Tim Duncan stan or moron. Miami would've beaten Detroit if Wade was healthy (FACT) and due to Detroit nearly repeating that year, I don't see how Miami wouldn't have made it a 6/7 game series, especially with a healthy 27/6/7 Flash who was not far off from his '06 dominance. Now '05 Heat vs '05 Suns? That would've been interesting. Still got Miami. Phoenix played no defense and the '7 seconds or less' offense could be exposed by good defensive teams in the P/O. However, they had a ridiculous amount of scorers on that team. Nash/Amar'e/Matrix/JJ/Q-Rich. Too bad those Suns teams had no center next to Amar'e. He played center himself in '07. Tyson Chandler would've been perfect on that team.

Phoenix vs Detroit would have been a good Finals matchup. Great Offense/Bad Defense vs Limited Offense/Great Defense Highest Pace Team vs Lowest Pace team Billups vs Nash Prince vs Marion Rip vs Joe Johnson Amare vs Rasheed/Ben and both teams had a thin bench, so the starting 5s would have to match up even more often than usual.
