Its true. Making a cop laugh can sometimes get you out of a ticket. An ex of mine got pulled over for speeding. She convinced the cop she could make him laugh and in exchange hopefully not get a ticket. He said ok. She then tells him "Why do Scots wear kilts?" "Cause sheep can hear a zipper a mile away." He actually laughed and told her not to speed again and no ticket. This was somewhere in N. Carolina. I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't there.

Soooo true. I got pulled over in Morocco last summer. First, the officer asked why my shoes were in the trunk. I said because they were stinky and the passengers objected, he laughed. Then he told me what the fine would be and asked about my family. I said I had so many kids I needed a break on the fine. He laughed, halved the ticket cost and I was on my way after I told the officer he was invited to Texas for a steak dinner anytime. All in broken French too.
