A deeply profound, esoteric moment. Loved it. Such a thinker, standing next to the dweller.

Lister really has these amazing vulnerable moments. For someone who is so blunt and…not selfish…but focused on the pursuit of living fully, it would have been safe to assume that she just never wanted children herself; outside of her sexuality. It’s another layer pulled back on the onion to see that Lister (just so I don’t get the Ann[e]s mixed up) does want children and thinks about the wondrous, miraculous maybe even magical aspect of life and existence. She really was a woman born in the wrong time.

"Poor Marian" ...oh. poor Marian. lol I still like her. Lovely scene. Good Anne is revealing her true self more to Ann, good Ann is seeing the vulnerability.

Was this vulnerability or manipulation? I consider it a little of both. Anne knew Ann was over her bs and played on her wanting children to keep her, since right before this she said it was over. Now some of the things she said about herself may have been true nonetheless, but I still feel like it was a desperate attempt to keep Ann in her grasp, and it worked.

This is pretty thought provoking

@@delusionalfan I tend to agree that she is manipulating. They had argued and there was talk of separating. I feel it was not beyond her "intellect" to try and appease Ann. Maybe she even didn't even realize it. In other words. partially true.

Yes that is exactly right. After ann said she was thinking about breaking up Anne lister just tried to impress her about having children or loving children. She was very clever and emotionally intelligent to try to hang on mrs Walker. But beautifully played and Suranne is playing her best role. 😊

You know why? Because God decided one day to make something extra ordinary. THAT'S why you are the way you are Anne Lister, Child Of God. I know this, because that's why I am the way I AM.
