I watched this when it was first posted and think about it weekly, especially the clip with the teacher who moved away and came back because she realized she could make a much greater impact in a small community. I grew up in a smaller town and never felt like I fit in, so I moved away to the city never expecting to look back. Now I've been here for a decade and a lot of my time is spent feeling like a cog in the machine and reminiscing on the place I came from. This video and its concept as a whole is so incrediblely beautiful and human and I really feel grateful to have been witness to it. So thank you so much. @mikedepue5 жыл бұрын
I come from a little town in Ohio and it's pretty much exactly the same lol. Most little towns are like this, very warm and open and everybody knows everybody else, always willing to help. ☺️ The gems aren't that hidden, you just gotta go look lol

Mike DePue I come from a town that’s 4 sq miles in Michigan, I know what it’s like to have this sense of community and know where everyone lives and things like that, but I know we would never be able to say, “Go talk to the man who owns the grocery store who made a bar out of his barn”. Everything is so industrialized now and it’s hard to find that local feeling anymore. And people tend to keep to themselves more than ever. They don’t seek out relationships and conversations with strangers. Everyone is so stuck in their own bubble it’s awesome to see a whole town who gets out and is willing to get out of their comfort zone. I know that this happens elsewhere but it’s not talked about much and it’s exciting to see a town like this getting some recognition.

AprilLynne well that’s a little unfortunate for your hometown. I come from a small town in Texas current population of 900, and it’s exactly like this but way better, lots more stuff going on and a hoppin Main Street. There’s always a few town grouches, but otherwise it’s awesome! Rodeos every weekend almost year round. Bars and parties every night. The town is always putting on events for every season and holiday throughout the year. We have an awesome cowboy show downtown every weekend. Anyway. I miss it. Moving back the end of the year, thank God. I got transferred with a big corporation to a big city in another state and I’m resigning the end of the year to move back.
