This is where ASMR originated, and we didn't know what it was back then, just it relaxed us. I've never done pottery, but it looks so relaxing! These are beautiful. Would love to see them decorated ❤.

Throwing on the wheel is not relaxing ;-; it’s mostly stressful and takes a lot of energy. It’s the results of all that works that’s relaxing and satisfying.

try a beginner class! its not so hard, you could make this exact thing in about 12 hours of practice

It’s so satisfying to watch someone create something so beautiful. It does something to me physically and emotionally. I really like how it makes me feel and it inspires me to create something myself. Magnifique!

What’s the name of the tool that you use to clean up the bottom before taking it off the wheel? Having a hard time finding it

What would an object look like where porcelain clay mixed with normal red clay. Like a vase made half of porcelain and half of red clay. Candy striped, super thin walled . . . Would it dry and fire okay or would it crack?

I was always taught not to throw through the lip, is it actually acceptable to do so? If it is, I need to rethink my whole technique

Beautiful work. Do you pull with a sponge and shape with just your fingers?
@floriangadsby11 ай бұрын
Sometimes a sponges sometimes my fingers. It depends on a whole range of things but essentially the movements themselves are the same, the sponge just helps to provide extra water as you pull and means you can make contact with a larger surface area as you lift.

I don't get how it always looks so ready to be immediately picked up and removed like that. I feel like i'd have to leave mine for many hours to be able to pick it up like that without it deforming. Yours doesn't even look like you get your fingerprints on it. This is why I was considering getting/making loads of bats.
