Throwing knives having thick, robust tips definitely works against them when penetrating Kevlar, where a slimmer, pointy knife with a wickedly sharp edge would cut fibers rather than having to push past them.

I learned no flip throwing ages ago, and it led me to your videos. Very impressive. Interesting trick throw I can do 'sometimes', I bet you could pull it off,. Try throwing a folding knife from closed, have it deploy in the air and stick a target. It's quite satisfying. (I used a CRKT M-16z) A penetration test I did with a SOG Vision: I put a 1.5 inch bicycle gel seat on a 1 inch pine plank, and was able to penetrate the gel cover and out the back of the pine plank. Third one that is fun, with a different 1 inch pine plank, I put 6 inch reactive shooting targets on the BACK of the target at about 5 feet distance. Then hit the targets THROUGH the board on the blind side. Blind targets (in a safe location) are wild. Thanks for your awesome videos. Your throwing is incredible and throwing with both hands is totally amazing. Keep up the good work. PS. A CRKT CEO has a pretty awesome throwing profile for a folder.

I think its time for ace jet to work on a special armor piercing stinger a special maybe thinner sharper longer tip and heavier on the backside maybe even longer like 6 inches or so making them basically like mini sword bo shurikin. Lots of weight with a hellish tip

Good stuff and great inspiration for making knives. They look the opposite of what you would think. (Heavy in the back) I just cut out some tomahawk/hockeyblade shape. It works so great, like axethrowing. Take care, stay strong and thanks again for a great upload.

I was half expecting these to fail miserably but you got some solid penetration! That’s really impressive for throwing knives. At least now we know Call of Duty knife throwing in real life military situations is probably not a smart idea 😆

put ballistic gel, or watermelon, or pumpkin or something soft behind that kevlar thingy,.... thats tell more i guess... becouse the wood stop the penetrating...

I think the penetration could be improved by sharpening the tips and adding edges on the knives. Or using actual knives 💜

Interesting... I thought they would be better, but it makes sense that the relatively thick point would have trouble getting through the padding and without an edge or two to cut the fibers they just get hung up. Some kinda dagger would probably be the best knife for this. 🤘

I'm how well a thrown knife with a sharp, thin point & following blade would do against this Kevlar panel. The throwing knives tested here seem optimized for convenience & durability rather than penetration.

I'd like to see you do this with maybe some kind of small cushion behind the armor to absob the impact a bit since a body isnt as hard as the wood and the armor secure as if it was being worn. I think you might have different results since the armor won't move on impact like it is in the video. Your first throw might have had more penetration. You second and third throw looked like it when the knife hit the armor moved too much from the impact. Idk just a thought still a rad video
