I am one of those guys that actually uses his lights. And I love this little guy. What I really like about it is it’s just a basic battery Powered flashlight. No programming. Just two modes. No recharge port or proprietary charging cables. Just put in a battery. Too many flashlights try and get too fancy and they’re not useful. especially if you actually use a flashlight in adverse conditions and in grid down situations. If I could change one thing with this light, I would have the first mode be high, and then the second mode below. That way I could use it as a tactical light.

No moonlight mode in a small edc light is a big miss. I also don’t like the ring in the beam and low CRI. Wurkkos TS10 gets brighter, has moonlight, has better beam and for less money.

@@maggi98mw TS10 is constantly on sale with discount codes for less and Anduril 2 had a “simple UI” section that is no more complicated than most. Really only downside when compared to this is no AA option.

@@cheule I guess I can see that but given Anduril’s “Simple UI” section I don’t think it really needs to be that different. Consumers are leaving a lot on the table just to gain a simple UI.

I bought three when they were on sale for prime day, so far very satisfied and I’ll be replacing my macro stream with it. I always keep AA batteries in my car so extra usage in a pinch is worth the switch alone. The macro is also micro usb and I’m trying to have all of my items be USBC so I always have a charger (Going to need an iPhone 15 for the usb-c 😴)

I did the exact same thing, bought two in cool white and one in neutral white. Prefer the neutral white a bit more since the cool has a slightly greenish yellow tint to it. For $15-20 you can't beat it. I'll probably pick up a few more as gifts and to just leave around. Only concern is the light does get warm on high and there is a warning in the manual to not run high for more than 10mins so we will see how long the light lasts durability/reliability-wise.

I've been using the Nebo Inspector RC for nearly 5 years, gone through 5 already. Is there a pocket flashlight you recommend that's close to the Nebo Inspector RC for everyday use. Or should I just get the ThruNite Saber and a rechargeable 3.7V battery.

can you recomeend a small inexpensive , easy to operate light like the saber, that also has candlelight mode that will run for a long time while also having near 700 lumen output on high and I need the light to have a USB charging port built into the flashlight casing...would like something that can run on either 1 AA battery or 1 18650 battery. I recently bought a couple of the Acebeam Pokelit that come with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery for $17... crazy good value. Looks like they are still running the deal on Amazon as of July 17th. This is even brighter? Nice! (amazon description makes it seem like this ThruNite doesn't have the Li-Ion battery included, but the QA clarifies that it does)

I wonder if the neutral white one is a high CRI SST-20 or just a plain old 5000K. A high CRI 4000K option would definitely put this on my radar, but Thrunite doesn't seem at all interested in selling high CRI lights.

I wish all batteries had Watt hour (Wh) ratings in addition to volts and Amp hours (Ah). Then you could compare energy capacity without doing math. Until then, I just multiply volts by Amp hours to get Watt hours. In this case, the included Lithium ion battery is 3.7 volts x 0.920 Ah = 3.4 Watt hours and the Eneloop is 1.2 volts x 2 Ah = 2.4 Watt hours.

How did Acebeam ever come up with the beam spacings on the Pokelit. Out of the three levels, two of them could be improved i.e. a slightly brighter moonlight and a lower mid level. They must have been smoking something pretty mysterious when they came up with that. Is there any, in any way, logical explanation? It has blown a few of my neurons trying to understand it but I still don't! What will they come up with next, a light that never switches on or just generates random levels or something else? They totally ruined it, maybe just trying to be to clever but actually stupid? My fault for buying it thought the 219F emitter is nice and neutral. Oh and there is a 1000 lumen cool white low CRI version of the Pokelit now and going cheap but I still never bought one. I already have a Trustfire L2 1000 lumen 14500 that is probably similar. So for folks who like big output from 14500 lights these are more powerful options than the Sabre.
@cheule

I totally agree about the spacing
@Gieszkanne

The odd spacings on the Pokelit was the reason I didnt bought it! I like the spacings on the Saber. I dont need moonlight 67 lumens are just right for everything and than you have 700 lumens if you once in a while need a lot of light.
