I also have the T598 and I also have the T-GTII and the T598 is simply better in terms of feel. but I have now been to a week that my T598 just shuts down completely when I'm racing. And so from Monday onwards I have been emailing back and forth with the Thrusmaster support team every day to find out what the problem is. So my advice to people who want to purchase a T598 is to wait a year so that these kinds of problems are resolved! 😎

after pulling my hair out due to my 598 that keeps disconnecting I found that just wiggle the wire going in the wheel from console it would loose connection easy , I zip tied that wire to the others going to the wheel to keep the weight off of it and last 2 runs no loss of connection . Next time you are using it jiggle the wire to see if it disconnects REAL easy & if so tie it up to the others to keep if from moving ?

Hey man, I just recently subscribed. Like your videos especially these types of videos for those of us that are on console and looking to upgrade our equipment to something stronger or different than what we currently have. I can’t speak about either Thrustmaster bases (T598 or T-GT II) since I’m still running an older T300 wheelbase but I do agree with The Casual Racing Gamer on 2 things he mentioned. First, not making the T598 base without the wheel and pedals available right away at launch. It should have been made available for us currently in the Thrustmaster ecosystem. Second, I agree with him when he mentioned Thrustmaster not making the T598 slightly stronger than the T-GT II. Something like 8nm to fit right in over the T-GT II’s 6nm and right under the T818’s 10nm. Also one last thing, Thrustmaster should make the T-GT II cheaper for the base only and available in physical stores

Did you actually try the fanatec Gran Turismo wheel?

Yeah I really don't like it sadly 😕
@awakeandwatching953Ай бұрын
No a DD wheel you should feel the car the moment it starts to slip.. again this is either a issue with GT 7 or TM software You also don't need specific support for wheel bases.. look at AC.. once set up properly has the best ffb of any SIM with content manager but it has no specific support for any wheel base from the last few years as it doesn't need to.. the wheel base just needs the ffb signal In AC you can feel the back end the moment it starts to step out and depending on car you can correct before it starts to slide.. this is a common attribute of DD wheels
@mandrakeblackstone5838Ай бұрын
Try playing Wreck Fest , that game is a ball with the TS-PC
@awakeandwatching953Ай бұрын
The effect your refering to is dampener.. the 8nm kit turns it from 5nm peak to 8nm peak it doesn't just create over shoot.. Most of the issues your refering to are not to do with DD wheels but drivers and gt7s ffb on DD wheel bases.. In other pc Sims you have none of these issues with DD wheel bases with some tuning.. there is nothing about a belt driven wheel that should be better than DD.. if it is then it's a software issue which is the case with the t598

I am absolutely enjoying the t598. It’s an awesome wheel for the price. I’m also running a buttkicker on my rig so I understand what your giving up when your not on your tgt2.

Yeah it is a trade off but overall the T598 is more realistic in how it feels

Want to upgrade from G29. Only playing GT7 on PS5. For a casual gamer seeking a better experience, would you recommend T598 or Fanatec GT Pro? (lc planned as well)

Honestly either one would blow you away going from a G29 i think you can get a better bang for your buck with the Thrustmaster T598

Idk i feel like the fanatec feels way nicer with the loading and unloading which is imo the most important part of a wheelbase. Also I feel the slip angle way more then on the t598. All very much important information to have in a wheelbase. But I def get your point and view. I think the tgt11 and cswv2.5 are absolutwly fantastic. I would atill choose those over any dd wheelbase under 10nm.

I personally like both high-end belt drive and DD wheel bases they both offer a distinct difference between them giving you more options. Personally Rally is my number 1 genre for racing so DD is more efficient for me even at 5NM

@@reviewforthetube6485 Thrustmaster and reviewers say "heat is not issue" - yet I suspect heat is the very reason they went with only 5nm and no boost kit.

Good video I have been trying to say the same thing , I have the TS-PC its a great wheel ,, Been thinking of getting a DD wheel but haven't found one that checks all my boxes as not only am I a serious sim racer but I do drifting , Derby and stunt driving ,,,Which a DD wheel would make me less competitive doing Derby drifting and stunt driving as DD wheels are only geared for Serious Circuit racing not serious Derby and stunt driving ,, If the TGT2's Transducer could be used in every form of racing game on PC It would be the best wheel ever , Kind of sucks the Transducer is made for only one game that I will never play because I refuse to get a PS or an Xbox due to well GT sport sucked so bad I threw my PS4 out the window and cut it up with a chain saw , and FM3 sucking just as bad I bashed my Xbox with jack hammer ,,, and went PC gaming . And your 100% right on For just serious circuit sim racing DD is the way to go but if your into other type of racing or casual racing then TS-PC or TGT2 is the way to go .....

T598 is a great wheel for the money but it’s lil 98w power supply is no comparison to fanatec 180w power supply, fanatec feels a lot stronger than t598 racing gt3 cars in gt7.
@mechlovin7627Ай бұрын
You are aware with direct axial drive it requires less power for the same force feedback.
@harrydesiАй бұрын
@ sure but when you use them side by side 8nm fanatec is harder to turn than t598 at Max ffb . T598 over shoot that you are getting is only for split sec.
@tonilaitinen5197Ай бұрын
😂 There is no weight in you power steering when you turn it on street.. maybe try some race cars. Even a rental karting will give you weight. If you want M6 GT3 to feel like F150, its a matter of taste.😅 And to lean on "realism" in FFB is fundamentally silly. FFB is meant to give the information you irl get from g-forces and through the chassis. That "1to1" -ramble you are stuck in just doesnt work. T598 "100% supported" as its recognized as "thrustmaster product". 😂 "GT7 is build for belt drive / T-GT" - after you just made a video how everyone should go for T598. Thats some bad advice mate. T598 is mainly a playstation product. Theres many other options if you race on PC alone.. GT is arcade racer? Wow.. so you went full pc purist just cos DD is not for consoles. I dont think i need this channel anymore.😅

Hi Frogboy I will be honest with you... it almost seems to me that they are paying you to speak so highly of the t598 although you have a point that is very similar to the fanatec that costs 200 boxes more! And for sure i like the T598 ! The only difference that I see between the two is that with Fanatec if you want to add anything it is not as expensive as the Thrustmaster... a steering wheel for $340 is a lot compared to Fanatec where you buy one for $160 and the same with the brakes etc. so 500 $ + 400 $ for the wheel are a lot money and whit 900 you can buy something better I got the point the wheel are very cool e very nice feeling but 400 $ for a wheel ? nope thanks !
@Frogboyx1gamingАй бұрын
Those Fanatec wheels that are cheap do not compare to the quality of the Hypercar wheel or the EVO Racing 32R Wheel to get that level of quality from Fanatec you are paying 400 to 800 dollars. As for the pedals I am literally getting my Fanatec V3 Inverted pedals today that cost me 430 bucks after tax and a 50 dollar shipping charge whereas with the T598 the shipping is probably free from bestbuy

Great video! Interesting point to think that GT7 is designed for belt driven wheels! You might be correct, but I have thought that GT7 is designed for controller, and wheel interface is just added on that. (ACC and hard core(r) sims are designed for wheel, and they are crap on controller.) But OK, obviously that T-GT II might be really good on GT7. I have GT DD Pro 8 Nm, I have been satisfied on it after Firmware and Drivers and GT7 physics update, because those solved disconnecting issues. But now I feel I need more force, and ordered DD+. Hoping I'm also getting more detailed FFB.
@Frogboyx1gaming10 күн бұрын
The DD pro definitely feels much better than it did at launch for sure. The T-GT II is literally designed for GT7 actually most racing games were built with belt drive systems in mind that's why some curbs have no feeling at all on a DD
@SmilingSpeedster10 күн бұрын
@@Frogboyx1gaming Agree on that, DD Pro turned much better on fresh program updates! (Only Trail Braking turned at least harder on last GT Physics update.) I'm a little worried of that how much better DD+ will be or did I just waste pile of money 😀
