Gordon Ramsay is one of the world's most celebrated chefs, with two distinct sides to his cooking. In his restaurants he's known for serving stunningly intricate dishes, while at home his food is just as delicious but simpler, faster and easier to make. Now in this practical home cookery series he teaches viewers how to cook amazing food every day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

and thats the problem with the majority who watch gordon's shows. they see him as a pompous bastard who likes to mouth off but hes far more then that. but 1 things for certain is that gordon is passionate about cooking which most fail restaurant he goes to for his kitchen nightmares shows fail to do. anyway watching what he cooks makes me salivate
@opertinicy
@opertinicy 10 жыл бұрын
Wolfenhiem he is a 'pompous bastard' on US TV (which is perfectly fine, it's his on-air/tv persona). It's what makes him great for US television: he's a hard-working, brutally honest, amazingly successful restaurateur and entrepreneur. His formula isn't 'family style, home cooking'. His formula for good TV is through giving businesses/chefs brutally honest constructive criticism (at least in the US tv market..)
@Wolfenhiem
@Wolfenhiem 10 жыл бұрын
the_others of course, the us love their drama and suspense. ramsey have given it to them. but they complain that hes a rude bastard who loves to mouth of every swearing word in the book... noone said being a restauranteur and a chef let alone well known is easy
@opertinicy
@opertinicy 10 жыл бұрын
Wolfenhiem He has great ratings here in the US (i.e. many people watch his shows, including myself). Yes, there are a lot of older generations who are offended by his foul language (thank the FCC for that). Don't forget that there are over 310 million people in the US, so there are going to get a lot of complaints/praises. It's impossible to make a generalization ("they") with that many people.
@Wolfenhiem
@Wolfenhiem 10 жыл бұрын
ill keep that in mind, just that many people cant seem to take what he says and only see the swearing and anger part of it which is nothing but a front from what i see. dont mind me

4:50 - Try using that tone and vocabulary in real life situations. - So what did you do today? - In the morning I had a spicy fennel sausage frittata, my ultimate Italian breakfast. - And what are you eating tonight? - For dinner tonight, I'll be cooking value for money; beef cheek. This large meaty muscle can cost as little as two pound a pop, from your local butcher. But the rewards of cooking it with a little love and patience, are bountiful. - Uh, ok

I noticed a lot of people criticizing his 'Italian' dinner. Of course Italians are very old fashioned, traditional and simple when it comes to cooking, but give the guy a break. In this day and age, a lot of chefs are all about the innovation of cooking, bringing a modern twist to the 'old'. Definitely nothing wrong with the 'old'-you need to know about the 'old' to come up with something new-it's simply innovation, a way to keep the culinary blustering with fresh concepts.

I realize how Gordon's hands are immune to heat. He can hold the freshly baked fittata with his bare hand and cut it. Then there's another episode where he cooks some egg dish (iirc) and he used his bare knuckles to knock the bottom of a pan he used to fry the egg. I am ashamed to say that I think the pan handle is freaking hot even when I use a cloth to grab it out of the oven.

+LE0NSKA You have to understand that a) Gordon's home cooking standards are not nearly as high as his restaurant cooking, b) He himself does NOT cook often at ALL for the family. Usualy his wife (who is no chef) c) Fresh ingredients are not hard to get, and often not more expensive than frozen produce. So why would they ever take frozen pizza? >_> (My standards are low, but frozen pizza is not 'good' compared to a fresh bottem with some fresh produce on it~

It's even better on "Matilda and the Ramsay bunch" when they have a "chef 2 chef" and almost everytime Gordon gives Tilly a boyfrirnd talk, saying that when "she wants to do something with a 'friend' (go kayaking/see a movie/go biking etc)", he could go with them and bring some food. Also the best line "Matilda! Wait, Matilda! I'll pay you not to date!" and him goofing around, riding a bicycle around the house and shouting "Iron Man Daddyyyyy!"

I really like the way of bonding given by Chef Gordon to his children, enjoying teasing at each other while educating them in cooking.. I find it so sweet..:) . I definitely loved to watch his video with his children.:) he's so very closed to them, he's a kind of dad that every kids wants to have! Coz He's genuinely expert in cooking. You have everyday meal with a restaurant taste that so good and special. He's family was so blessed to have him as father and words top famous chef. :)
