What a fantastic dumpster diving adventure today! Started off with a visit to the scrapyard to empty out the truck , then hunted down a dumpster that was absolutely loaded!! How much can we actually fit in the back, and how much is it worth? Let's find out together!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
This is the cheaper version: amzn.to/2SwrYsB
And here are those grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

With those lights you have to just grab one of the ends and pull bend it outwards. Then the bulbs just fall out.

I find a lot of those light boxes - knock one end off to get those lights out quickly. After breaking a few in my hands, smashy smashy was the way to go. And the ballasts - no need to unscrew them, just take the whole fixture and knock it on its end really hard and the ballast will just pop off.

Some of those looked like electronic ballast, I'm curious if the yard has anything to say about that? And cat5 can be tricky, there's one yard near me that pays next to nothing for it and another that pays almost the same as romex. Then again, the yard that pays more also buys e-waste, so that might be a factor. Either way, great find! Keep doing the thing!

Pretty sweet your yard is so BIG - my yard is very small .. mayyyybe 3/4 trucks can back up and start unloading the junk- it causes lines to form and I’ve waited over an hour in my truck .. and that’s not necessarily too too busy - there’s just not a lot of space to work with .. and there’s only like two sections you can throw the junk for the magnets to pick it up - so yeah that’s what I have to deal with when I junk lol

I spent an entire summer scrapping nothing but those white style of light fixtures, you have to find a scrap yard who doesn’t care about PCBs and fluorescent bulbs. It took 1.5 tons of hand loading per scrap run to make it worth the money, and had to have at least 2 runs a day to make it worth it, did about 200-400 a day in just fixtures over this last summer depending on gas and amount of trips. Wore big thick welding gloves, nothing else held up. Not worth the time if you have to remove ballasts, fins a yard that doesn’t care before you start hauling a bunch or you’ll hate your life of having to remove hundred of ballasts
