Thank you for taking the time to make this, especially the mounting to the roof rails part. I was frustrated trying to interpret the pictures in the instruction manual as "spatial relations" has never been my strong suit. After watching your video, I did in a few moments what took me 45 minutes last year.

Did you manage to search the driver's side? I'm putting it together now and can't figure out how to get the back played off to switch it.

John McDonough, I did it, and can report that it’s completely possible (though you have to deal with upside down stickers if you leave them on like I did). Unfortunately, I don’t remember how I did it.

O did not use brackets ply t bolts placed in the bars. I have no one element to fix back part and this solution seems not solid.

i have a similar thule upright bike carrier that is bolted to my roof rack...but how would you LOCK the bike carrier to the roof rack. if someone wants to steal the bike and bike carrier, all they have to do is loosen the bolts. anybody have a solution?

Worst comes to worse just strap a bike lock that wraps the rack to the crossbars. I had the same thought process as you and that's all I can think of. I've seen someone actually cut the crossbars with a sawzaw and stole the bikes they had because they had the integrated cross bars and bike roof rack lol that's messed up. I dont have a garage so I'm worried about the samething as you with someone jacking this version.
