EXCELLENT review! Thinking about a Thunder Chicken for my Q Sugar Weasel, 16", 5.56, which has the Cherry Bomb as standard equipment.

it should also be noted that suppressor wraps can lead to premature failure, due to the fact that they hold the heat in. titanium starts to weaken at about 850-900 degrees.

Yeah sorry, I've been using my gopro. I've been struggling with audio on all my videos. I'm saving up for a better camera hence why I've slowed down uploading. If you have any questions about the can though "shoot" them my way. But rest assured full powered .308 is hearing safe out of a 20 inch barrel.

I really appreciate your review. Just ordered mine partially after hearing your thoughts. My rifle will be potion seller, by barking mouse. Built it following the what would stoner do formula, but with a 10.5 inch Faxon 300 blackout barrel. Very much looking forward to testing, then it will be my pig gun. What ammunition have you found to be most reliable? Accuracy I know will be barrel dependent but any info is helpful. I like S&B, but I've heard some disturbing reliability rumors.

If you're going to do 300 blk, I'd forsure do an adjustable gas block. Subs I've run SIG 220gr with no problems with a fixed gas block. Pretty much the rest of the supers work, might just be a bit gassy if you dont tune it.

@@davethehonestasian7175 Thanks Dave! It will be subs only. I looked into an adjustable block and BCG, but given how I plan to use it, I chose to go with a Faxon low profile. Won't be shooting anything other than subs. Just don't know which ammo yet. If I need hard hitting, it'll be my 7mm. I'm interested in your choice of low light though. I'm stuck between 3rd gen light amplification and IR right now. Planned use is pig gun. Got other calibers for other purposes.

@@thebarkingmouse if you are strictly using it for hunting with subs, a gen 2 or gen 2+ scope would be sufficient. Subs will get ya 200 to 300 yards max. If you want to plink or have the ability to switch your other guns I'd look at a PVS 14 from TNVC (avoid PVS 7's they are junk). You can shop around on ebay or airsoft forms and save some money...just be careful some of it is stolen from the military and you never really know what tubes are in the NOD. For IR, I use a steiner Dbal D2 only because it has a built in illuminator that throws light well. Some of the cheaper models are nice, but they either dont have illumination or only throw light to 100 yards or less.

Well with a bolt action .308 running at 2559 FPS with a 20" barrel I do not wear ears. Granted I already have some hearing issues, but friends have shot it without ears and had no discomfort. I will say on my AR's my ears will ring mildly, I am fairly certain that has more to do with the diameter of the projectile and velocity, rather than the bolt cycling

As far as 30 cal cans go this one is lighter than others, and the tapered mounting system keeps it from carbon locking onto the muzzle device also you dont have to worry about it walking off during rapid fire. The only thing is the diameter is about 1.75" so if you want to get the "integrated suppressor" look you cant find hand guards large enough for it. If you get one I dont think you would be disappointed. Full disclosure though, I only really have time with the Surefire 7.62 to compare it against.

Dave The Honest Asian see I have a HoneybadgerSD the 2 stamp version so I’m just trying to get the quietest suppressor I can. I don’t care about length and weight I want quiet. I have a AAC 7.62SD and it’s quiet on a Handi-rifle but semi autos it’s still loud my suppressor tuned Rifle Dynamics AK (7.62) sbr is still loud it’s sealed as good as an AK can get so it has to be my can. I have the Honeybadger suppressor and sbr it’s 1.5” diameter so I don’t know if the 1.75” diameter will make that much of a difference. Maybe it will but, in your experience is the Thunderchicken the quietest can on the market?

@@davethehonestasian7175 being that you have experience with this and the surefire 7.62.. how would you compare them? Also as far as night shooting with the thunder chicken.. how well does it suppress flash compared to the surefire? Thanks!
