Thunderace Clutch

Found out why my bike would not go into gear very well. Now works perfectly.

Really glad someones done a detailed break down on an ace clutch as I have to swap the plates in mine as it slips sometimes usually when cold strangely enough? thanks again hopefully it comes apart and goes together ok Haha

The Exhaust is from an FZR1000, it fits the Thunderace but you have to move the radiator forward slightly resulting in longer lower support rods - these are 2 strips of metal that bolt to the engine and the bottom radiator mounts.

Can I ask you a question my bike runs and seems like it can go in gear no noise but when u do and release clutch bike does not go anywhere any idess

Hi there, I just bought a thunderace and it has a bad 2nd dog gear . My question for you is when you have the sump pan off the bottom of motor can you access the transmission from there or do you need to pull motor?

Bryan Behrent Hi, I don't think so, when you have the sump pan off its quite limited what you can see, apart from the oil strainer as all the transmission is enclosed within the motor casings, I would source an exploded view of the transmission and go from there, sorry I cant help much more than that.

Hi As you know the internals of the Thunder engine. Clutch seal went last weekend, so put quite a bit of slack into my sprocket shaft, which minced the carrier bearing. So all of a sudden i c ouldnt really change gear etc, and had to nurse it home in 1st, 2nd,4th.hoping it hasnt minced the gear box.sounds like a bag of spanners.Do you think that cos the sprocket shaft hasnt lined up properly to the gearbox.might be a cae of the dogs not lining up to the shaft rather than a mince box? cheers

Thunderace, if the push rod comes out with engine running will the ball being come out the left side or stay in the right, thank you

Hi there. Did you ever get the answer for this? May have made the same error of starting the engine without the slave cylinder attached.

ball bearing can be removed from the left side along with the push rod

Hey was exhaust system is that under it looks like one where you can put a link pipe on rather than one soild system I'm after one so I can keep the ex up also I've heard the yzf750 or for 1000 fits

Does that exhaust system fit in thunderace with the link pipe 750yzf or fzr1000? Trying to find one and keep ex up system
