id imagine start with your core rope.at abt 7 ft and the first strands of duct tape give yourself 10 ft just to be on the safe side second layer 12-15 third abt 20 you can always cut off what you dont need

At most, you could say it's not _just_ a weapon, since there are non-weapon uses for it. But then, there are non-weapon uses for guns, too. I think it will last much longer than regular duct tape whip because the glue from the tape is not the only thing holding it together but also the tension from plating. Also the plating makes the tape more durable and less likely to tear.
