Now I want both ships to complement my Warhound! Great vid again mate, great models! 🙂
@miguelortiz38367 жыл бұрын
Great video Brother, these size comparizon videos are great because I usually wonder how would they look side by side with the rest of the models. I think two Thunderhawks flanking a Stormbird would look great (and transport a whole company's worth of marines!) just like a mantiple of two Warhounds flanking a Reaver (and then maybe two mantiples walking in the shadow of a Warlord Titan [just how much money that would be...]!) anyhow thanks for the video brother. The Emperor protects.
@Sup3rSaiy3n7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Migel. That means a lot. Yes would love to get another Thunderhawk at some point. I'd probably go for another two Warhounds and another Reaver before that though :) If GW is making plastic Warhounds then count me in for two haha. Anyway in a novel I read there was a maniple of a couple of Warhounds and a Reaver accompanying a Warlord so that's where I got my inspiration from. I did the math and for 1 Warlord, 2 reavers and 4 Warhounds, with weapons it would cost £4,000!
@miguelortiz38367 жыл бұрын
Thanks to you for your great videos brother, it would be great but it is an awfull lot of money, if you get the Legio Titanicus Titan Maniple plus 2 Warhounds and 4 weapons (2 for each) it would be a grand total of £3,578! It would be awesome but wow... so much ££... anyhow one can dream! =)
@pierat33387 жыл бұрын
Gotta say, used to look at the Thunderhawk as the space marine transport that my personal chapter would always use, but ever since I saw the sokar I wrote that out and replaced it, because the sokar is amazing. That thing looks like the sort of transport that when that touches down everything starts running the fuck away from the 100 or so battle brothers who are storming from the things many exits plus the Thunderhawk just looks... Ugly? It looks like a box with wings where as the stormbird has more of an actual dropship feel and looks like it's more capable of its job
@Xune20007 жыл бұрын
To say I was disappointed when the new Thunderhawk was announced to be in resin and not plastic would be an understatement. I've wanted one of these babies since the metal Thunderhawk was released but could never afford one. It makes sense to me know though, with the release of the Primaris, that GW wouldn't want to invest in expensive tooling up to release a plastic model right as they're about to phase out the old marine line of models.
@Sup3rSaiy3n7 жыл бұрын
Xune A lot of conflicting statements in that comment Xune. It reads like you're disappointed because you can't afford one rather than their decision to create one of the best FW models to date with detail a plastic version could only dream of. You could overcome this by just working harder, saving for a few months or sell some stuff you don't need. You have two kidneys right? 😉 It really depends how much you truly value this model. Furthermore 'phasing out the current space marine range'? Even if you worked for GW you would be saying these aren't replacing current marines, so do you know something even they don't? Primaris will not be replacing current range (that's from GW) and imo they never will. No-one is prepared to pay £30 for 5 plastic space marines oh and 10 mini marines are still better game wise. That sounded like a rant but it wasn't meant as one 😊
@Xune20007 жыл бұрын
I was just trying to say that with rumours and speculation, I thought a cheaper plastic Thunderhawk was on the way as my budget doesn't stretch to forgeworld prices. I do see the Primaris as replacing regular marines both in-universe and on the tabletop; especially with Pete Foley saying in the live Q&A on the 18th of May, that in-universe regular marines can retroactively receive the Primaris treatment and that the technology to creation of new Primaris will be given to individual chapters. On the tabletop, I believe this translates to the current marine line being phased out in favour of Primaris, possibly with upscaled versions of the older models for flavour. I could of course be wrong, but if I'm not, it makes sense that GW wouldn't want to invest in the expensive process of creating a metal injection mould for a plastic Thunderhawk that will be in a different scale to their new model range. We're already seeing the beginning of that with the Repulsor and Redemptor Dreadnought. I really do love the model and I've enjoyed your videos of it, thanks for sharing!
@Sup3rSaiy3n7 жыл бұрын
Ah right. Yes I honestly thought a cheaper plastic Thunderhawk was on it's way too. Personally I wasn't disappointed for a number of reasons and try and give things a chance before I let them effect me emotionally. If anything it pumped me up to find more about the new resin model, the differences in the old model, customisation options and the lessons the designer learned from the incredible stormbird model. I never knew about that Q&A video and find it interesting that he is basically saying that all space marines can receive the treatment. I guess they have to leave something in the fluff to use if they go down that route. Good find and I'm pleased you used it to support your view. I can see how one would draw the next logical step from them upscaling their entire range but I really hope that doesn't happen. It would make a lot of models virtually redundant and those are the people that buy the most models. When I went to Warhammer Fest I saw a lot of middle aged men and guys a similar age to me. Shocked there were hardly any kids compared to 15 years ago. I can actually see them releasing smaller regular marines and custodes, tanks etc from FW but releasing bigger plastic marines and vehicles from GW. Although doing this will annoy a lot of people and will likely fragment hobbyists and collectors. Thank you for your kind words. Am pleased to have brought you the videos.
@Xune20007 жыл бұрын
I believe that Forgeworld will be continuing at the current scale with the Horus Heresy line of models and 40k Marine accessories (Primaris share the same size heads and shoulder pads as the current marines). Meanwhile GW will be moving to the new scale over the course of this edition; there is already fluff of newly created chapters in the Ultima Founding that are composed entirely of Primaris Marines. If the Primaris were only intended to be large elites for the existing chapters, I'm not sure how they would be able to square that with entire chapters of them. Of course it all comes down to the bottom line, if the old marines remain profitable the emphasis on Primaris may diminish. At the moment though, it looks like GW are going hard on them; as well as the Repulsor and Redemptor, the new Dark Imperium novel mentions Aggressor and Reiver squads. I expect we'll be seeing models for these squads this year.

I know this is an oldie, but still, great review. The Thunderhawk is awesome, but... 500€… Ughhh...!!! The Primaris force really needs more transport options. Cheaper in points and in cost. 👍🏻
@Sup3rSaiy3n5 жыл бұрын
Paulo Freire It is well worth it imo. One of FW’s best designed models and so much fun to build. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it mate. I agree that Primaris need more transport options other than their flying transport tank. In the lore they have the super heavy Overlord flyer which is somewhere between the Thunderhawk and Stormbird. Think of a much larger Corvus Blackstar and you would be close to what it looks like. I guess FW will make it one day but it won’t be cheap in points or cost, because Primaris aren’t. Primaris are less than 2 years old and we had to wait many years to get drop pods, land raiders, thunderhawks etc. Primaris will get them, in time.
@paulofreire75205 жыл бұрын
Don’t get me wrong, it’s an awesome model and a fantastic center piece. And yes, I could afford it but my point is that eventually the majority of gamers, specially the youngest probably can’t. And there are no other options, except the repulsor. Cheers
@Sup3rSaiy3n5 жыл бұрын
Paulo Freire It’s a £500 model. Of course young gamers can’t afford it. I thought that would be obvious to yourself and young gamers. Furthermore I wasn’t aware you were speaking on their behalf. How many did you speak to? Their circumstances clearly effect their ability to buy such models. I’d like to add that just because the majority of people can’t afford it doesn’t mean FW should make it more affordable. It’s one of their most expensive models from the more expensive branches of GW from a line of luxury products. As such all of the costs involved in design and production of the model are far greater than a repulsor for instance. Ferraris are no doubt not affordable for the majority of people but I wouldn’t waste my time fighting for those that cannot buy them. I would instead hope that they have enough freewill and intelligence to make their own decisions as to what is within reach of their current financial circumstances. More transport options for Primaris? Sure. Bigger transport options with similar or more detail for less price? Isn’t going to happen. Hope that helps.

They hold up against inflation pretty well. Better than buying a new phone every year just for it to be worthless the next. But, ofc, you don't buy these things to invest, but as far as hobbies go, it's not the worst ROI. Cars... People love cars and, unless it's a classic, cars depreciate like crazy. Most people I know, their car is their biggest money pit. Cutting Warhammer might save you 2 grand. Cutting the luxury car will save you 150+ grand over the life of the loan. Take the money from the car and spend it on real estate. With just 1 rental property and a place to live (you can do this with 1 property, known as "house hacking"), you can easily afford to live (not just exist, but live).
